Imitation phone questions - "dopodO"

Does anyone have experience with these chinese knockoff phones?

I have a friend who has bought about 7 dopodO phones, and has given them all away as gifts. He says they are all working fine a year later, but he doesn't know anything technical about them.

Things i'm interested in knowing: What band's do they run on? I want to give some to friends in Canada.

Also want to know if bluetooth works and if its possible to add third party software to the phone?

Any model numbers? That would help. If they're the phones I think they are, they run Windows Mobile, so third party apps are not an issue.

C720 is the one I think, though there are many different models for sale. It says windows mobile on the back of the phone, but the guy says its not real windows mobile OS on it.

I looked it up. It's Windows Mobile 5, and is tri-band.

Would You say is that possible to change languages on this c720+ phone or add it? What soft is required?

It's Windows Mobile; changing the language to English is a trivial matter, no software needed. Don't know if you can add other languages; someone who actually uses Windows Mobile should step in.

I also have a similar problem. I bought the dopodo c720+ in a phone market in beijing thinking it was a dopod phone.

I can't seem to install any of the stuff I want thanks largely to the fact that active sync does not recognise it. I cannot find any drivers for it on the net so that I can install them on my computer. It also says it runs on windows mobile but I am having my doubts.

Apart from that it works pretty well.

Does anybody out there know how I can get around the installation hurdles?
