Best phone in terms of sound quality and GUI for ATT

So I think I have one more year left on my 2 year ATT contract, and I've been doing ok with my SE W810i up until lately, because the volume of my calls is starting to drive me nuts, it's SO LOW ! Anyway, I have the opportunity to have an unlocked phone sent to me from Hungary (family) and I'm starting to look around for an alternative to the SE 810i.

I have no brand loyalty, so any company is fine so long as :

The call volume is LOUD. Living in NYC, one has to hear whom they're talking to, in order not to feel like yelling might be an appropriate way to talk back.

2. The GUI should not only be intuitive/easy to navigate, but fast to respond, as well. There's nothing worse than thinking you have some high tech software under the hood, only to have some low gear firmware ruining the experience. (or is that the other way around ?)

3. Call reception should be top priority. In my years of experience, it's not only the cell towers which matter, but the strength of the phone's antenna as well. Smart phone features and all that jazz is meaningless to me, if I can't use my phone, as a PHONE. ATT may advertise "more bars" and stuff like that but, in my case, I walk into a big place like Home Depot of Lowes, and it's pot luck all the way. Sketchy reception at best.
