My current download speeds are only 10kbs, is att any better then that. What is the data speeds for ATT in a non 3G area.

Heck up here you still have to dial the area code before you call anyone which you don't have to do with AT&T in Charleston/Huntington. They said that 3G service up here in Northern WV would not be ready until mid-spring to -early summer. They had no time frame on the Charleston, or Huntington markets. |

The original at&t legacy markets are being looked at for 3G launch, and beyond that based on market needs. Most areas are supposed to get 3G sometime in 08 but not every at&t owned tower everywhere will get 3G, that wouldnt make sense and in reality, isnt possible considering all the sites. |

As far as the upgrade of 3G. I dont doubt the growth and density of Morgantown. It would be a smart move to upgrade that area to 3G. However, high iPhone sales is not an impetus to push a carrier to 3G. It uses EDGE. Also: With the FCC no longer requiring analog services after Feb 18, 2008, I think we'll see massive 3G upgrades. (Does ATT even have any analog bands?). I've already been told that the 3G network IS built in Charleston, they're just testing it and awaiting the approval to go live. So who knows. sales jockeys will say anything to get you to stick with a carrier who has/will have 3G services. We'll see when it goes live. |
