How to flash K790a to K790i

Here is my situation. Im currently have a unbranded and unlock K790a. I want to flash it to K790i because im going oversea and need 900 MHz frequency to be available.

On the Davinci Service Client, there is no option for me to flash it to K790i.

The main goal here is for my K790a to lose 850 MHz and gain 900 MHz band, also keep 1800 and 1900.

My current service is AT&T, i did a few search and people said this wont affect my reception and Edge at all, 850 MHz will still work....

Here is the log from the DaVinci Client:

Model info:
K790a
Software info:
R1JG001 prgCXC1250634_NAM_1_EV R1JG001
Customization info:
CDA102535/301 R11A
cxc1250491 R1JG001
AMERICA_1

Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

you can be hardcore and buy a k790i antenna and transplant it to your k790a then flash it to k790i f/w. then it'll be a true k790i lol

Please post flashing/software update questions in the Modding section. Also, be sure to read the SE FAQ and Modding sections as your questions may have already been asked and answered.

ok so i used WotanServer and flashed my K790a to K790i with Europe 1 CDA. When i go into the Service menu, it still saying that i have 850GSM on instead of 900GSM..

How do i know i have 900 GSM now?

u dont, cuz your hardware is triband nothing will change it

Yeah, I was reading your other thread about the k790 -> k810 mod and was about to post there that the phone doesn't have the 900 band, and the guy was wrong. Some of the prototype K790s were quad band, the production were not.

What the other guy was talking about applies to Motorolas, not SE. SE makes their phones (usually) triband at a hardware level, very few do like moto and just adjust software.

If you opt to sell your phone though, hit me up.

Yes, the k850 is quadband GSM and tri-band 3G.
