XV6800 not connecting to wifi

Just purchased the XV6800 upgraded from the 6700. Wifi does not work. Returned the phone for a new one and still no Wifi. I see the connections secured or unsecured including my own. I choose connect on any of them including my own. The phone says "connecting". After a few seconds it says the connection is not available even though it is. Went through 3 levels of tech support at Verizon and one level at utstarcom. They don't know why. told me to wend them the phone. Any help would be greately appreciated. BTW, my old 6700 would connect without any issues to the same Wifi networks.
