I posted this in the tmobile section but no one seems to know.... Does anyone here know if there is a way to get rid of the myfavs app on the 8320?

If you can't delete it in Options > Advanced Options > Applications then perhaps using the Desktop Software and deleting the MyFaves modules from the Java folder and re-installing the operating system. Check out this discussion: Removing Voice Activated Dialing. Same concept for MyFaves.

Well, why do you want to uninstall it??? Just change your theme, or select "Hide MyFaves" and then further, you can literally "Hide" the icon in the menu along with any other ones that disgust you to see by simply hitting the little "RIM"/menu button while the icon is highlighted and select "Hide."

Do you really need to uninstall it - what do you hope to gain from doing this?

Look at the link in the post by rambo 47, it provides an example on how to delete files.

The files to delete for myfaves are:

net_rim_bb_media_100_five_icon_library.cod
net_rim_tmo_five.cod

If you don't use it there is no harm in uninstalling it, plus it will free up a little bit of onboard memory.

I deleted the above files a few weeks ago as i too was annoyed with the my faves app. I have had no problems and find it much easier to manage contacts without the app.

*Barough* - How does uninstalling MyFaves make managing contacts any easier??? Fill me in - What's so annoying about it

Apparently I have some disconnect here and just don't get it. MyFaves (from what I can tell) is totally separate from the Address Book/managing contacts. It does not take up any significant amount of on-board memory to be worth deleting just for the sake of freeing up memory. Turn it off if it's annoying, hide it if it's ugly. I... Just... Don't... get it
