Browsing security on BB (Curves et al)

I currently use a standard PC to make trades with the stock broker (tdwaterhouse). Obviously secure enough with 128bit etc.

But I am wondering about the Blackberry devices - are they safe to use on protected sites?

If the site offers a secure connection normally, would the BB also enter that site will full security? When you connect to such a site would there be a "padlock" like in Windows?

(for that matter Blackberry Curve ... any BB ... any cell phone).

I have a Nokia 8390 but never was able to access secure sites. I figure most sites can now. I know a recent version of a Nokia brick allowed you to install Opera - I am sure that Browser offers a secure connection.

At any rate - would appreciate your comments.

Many people use PDAs for financial data transactions. Personally, I never would trust the cell network to be that secure, BB or not. Just a personal preference.

apparently last time someone from our store called rim about a customer trying to trade on td waterhouse they were told that td waterhouse does not allow trading to be done from a blackberry...not sure if there is any truth to this or the reasoning behind it, just thought i'd throw it out there
