Who gets a FAN???

So I had a "big" meeting on our BIR% the other day and this was what the "higher ups" told us. "If someone wants an activation the only requirement for a monthly discount is that they are a direct relative to the person who signs up and they are willing to add them as an authorized contact." Of course I ask if this means anyone as in mother, brother, sister, mom, dad, etc. They say yes as long as this person is a 1st generation relative (needed to be specific) but they do not need to have a line with us or anything they just need to be added as a contact. The customer rules, all that stuff. Now on one end I am cool with that, but on the other, I asked if they had a way of checking employment eligibility, and of course they said "no" except for the e-mail formula. So they basically said give discounts and tell the person they need to bring in or fax the proof of employment to us within a week. Question is, how do you treat potential IRU people? Proof at the beginning or give them a chance, with the discount, to prove they are eligible? My IRU manager is a good friend so maybe I am biased towards him, but to what extent will you go to prevent them from walking?

Is this policy in csp somewhere? I've always been told that it has to be the account holder who works for the company that has the fan.

This was from the IRU manager, CRU manager, ARSM, and DOS. This was a surprise to me. Customer rules... but pushing it. I am following orders at this point.

What region? And in all honesty is this just a quick way to boost some numbers or just a clarification on policy?

NE, there was a long discussion about it, and the result was direct relatives as long as they are willing to add them as an authorized contact. I agree it might be a way to push numbers. We get reamed about BIR all the time so.... would u accept this policy or do you already? Following orders st the moment.

We don't have that policy and nothing has come down regarding any kind of change to it either.

It would be nice to have and it would mean that a lot, a ton, of customers would start getting discounts they otherwise wouldn't get.

I was went through the new hire training not too long ago, the official policy ( and I know it is in CSP somewhere) is that the person whose name the account is in has to be the employee to get the Fan put on there. We have suggested TOS if the fan is in the wife's name and the account was in the husband's name. But hey, if they are directing you to do it, their heads will roll if it is wrong.

my market is having RSC audits on IRU and the primary holder has to be the employee to receive the benefits

So basically they want you to start making up FAN for customers who look like a 25% postal service discount will keep them from walking. Lame.

Posted by: OffTheHorseCEO

is the postal service fan a nationwide fan or does it vary by market?

anyone have it for NC?

Posted by: drewyehboi

Use the ECPV.

i would assume it would be the same fan in all markets and be the same discount.
