P800 GPRS Settings Restore after Software Upgrade

I have just learned from the folks at Virtual Dynamix that one should not do a restore after a firmware upgrade.

As a traveler I have four SIMS, each with a unique GPRS setting and one GPRS WAP setting required, one of the four being Cingular which is a pain, and also several e-mail accounts. This is a ton of manual input after the upgrade to rebuild the phone!

Has anyone opened their old backup in WinZip and copied over the files that contain GPRS and e-mail settings? If yes, how and which files are they?

I did a complete restore after upgrading and everything is absolutely fine. Even the CDA file was not overwritten.

What version did you go from and to?

R1D to R2A

I used PC Suite 1.4.2 for the backup and restore...all the previous PC Suite version gave me errors.
This version gives NO errors with either backup or restore.

The Sony Ericsson site under " Global Support" will email you the setting that Auto Install into the phone.

They offer the service for many providers worldwide.

The only US provider curently showing is T-Mobile.
