HTC Touch work on T-mobile?

Hi, i've searched these forums but still don't see the answer, sorry, I'm sure this has been covered.

Does the HTC Touch work on t-mobile? My daughter wants one for Christmas. I can't figure out:

1) which version we need--does the phone have to a gsm version I assume? Some are unlocked, what does this mean?

2) which data plan works with t-mobile? Is there a lot of special setup required to make it work?

3) best place to buy? Need insurance too...

Is there a new version of touch smartphone coming soon that t-mobile would support? Should we wait??

Thanks for any input!!

yes, just buy the gsm unlocked version. Buy the enhanced version, or the touch dual, both are gsm

thanks for the reply, do you happen to know which data plan will work w/t-mobile?

any besides blackberry ones, get the regular standard grps one. Just when you get it look up the grps settings from tmobile or call them, then your done Your phone might even do an auto configuration

Hi,

I got the TouchDual and am trying to set up the data connection.
The automatic setup isn't working as internet explorer and the weather function do not connect. I have unlimited edge data plan. Can someone get me specifics as to get it working?

It seems as if the settings on my other phone showed a proxy server address to be used with a port 8080 with CHAP authentication. I can't figure out where to put that information on the touchdual.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Sorry but in my GPRS settings under Connections tab in settings, it only lists authentication methods of PAP or CHAP. Which should it be?

I'm terribly unfamiliar with Windows mobile 6, but I dont' see where to enter any of these settings specifically.

And lastly, do I have to have the 19.99 a month internet plan or will my unlimited tzones plan work? I came from a Symbian SE M600 and it surfed the web fine under Opera with just my 4.99 tzones plan.

Thanks,
Chris

The touch goy really bad reviews. I would stay away until they work out the kinks with their touchflow!

I'm not having any problems with touchflow.
At all. Have you even touched one?
My only problem is connection settings seem distributed in too many places within Windows Mobile 6. That'd not be a HTC problem.
I'm on the Touch Dual.

Hi,

Now it seems as if internet explorer works, but the weather tab on the HTC today page can not load....
