V3c Telus Firmware Download

Early Christmas Gift

Well here it is finaly for all you V3c/V3m hackers that have been waiting so long for this Telus firmware. It's not the newer 06.08.00R but it's better than nothing. Telus File System backup also included for the java system files. Tested by me and fully working but don't flash from a Verizon V3c/V3m firmware. Go from Alltel, Generic, MPC, Vivo anything but Verizon. My 275a MIP unlock edit works on secondary profile only not the primary.

Ya same thing except you need to make a seconday MIP profile with QPST for the 275a hack to stick

I thought I would never see the day this happened! Looks like I may end up getting a new battery for my V3c and hanging on to it for a while.

Going to this flash from Bell is fine and you won't have to do the java fixes.

Here is my 2742 and 275a seems from my Telus V3c because this upgrade flash doesn't update those 2 seems so you need to upload mine with P2KSeem. They have every edit done that needs to be done including the MIP unlock edit.

I told you you have to upload my 2 seems and the java files for the filesystem for java to work. Upload my 2 seems with P2KSeem first. Do the 2742 first then 275a then open the filesystem dump included with the flash and use P2KCommander to upload every thing in "brew/mod/jeodek" and "motorola/shared/jeodek" to the same place on your phone. Then java will be working.

Here is my mma_ucp and mma_dcp instead of using the Telus ones for the filesystem dump. The Telus ones have to much extra junk. Mine say Java for Java and Webaccess Browser and WebSessions.

Get EVDO data working. If you don't do it only 1X will work and you will have to reset the 1XRTT Settings every time you restart the phone.

Not to get off topic, but curious on your opinion Goldmembr before I spend the time flashing my v3c

I've got a v3c flashed currently with the Alltel 4.04 customer upgrade on it from ages ago, and it's fully working. Being I have my v9m flashed to USCC which flash in your opinion would be better to go with for functioning and ease of getting everything to work. Obviously we have 2 choices this one or the Bell, I'm just kinda curious as to your opinion between the 2 seeing as I've not had any of my phones flashed to date that would have Java in the end, and by the looks of it you are using both setpus on your different phones.

Not anymore Telus is definaly the way to go.

You use QPST to read your service programing and create a secondary profile set it as the profile in use. Then write it back to the phone. Go to Mark_V pages and look for the process.

Thanks for the early gift GoldMember, was wondering if you could put up the java icon files, or even the mma_ucp, dcp, and the icons. I searched and found an earlier thread that you had posted a link the them...but it's dead now.

Everything worked, but my java icon is missing on the main menu...

Do you know how to create the Java Skins for other skins I want to load to my phone? I have modified plenty of skins to use on my RAZR when I get it but I need to know how to either point the skins to the Default Java skins or create new java skins for my uploaded skins. I tried creating them on my E816 but they don't show when I go into Java. Let me know if you know anything on that or if you know of anyone else that does.

The default java icons go in "motorola/shared" directory. Use P2KCommander to copy the ones from the filesystem dump "motorola/shared" to your phone then you can name any icons you want to use to those names to change them to what you want.

This is the modified mma_ucp and mma_dcp with the fixed Car Settings that i use on my Telus V3c. The Telus one has to much usless stuff not used on Verizon. Use P2KCommander to put the mma's and the 3 gifs in "motorola/system" Then you can name whatever icons you want to use the same name and overwrite them in "motorola/system" if you want to later.

The java skins are in "motorola/shared/jeodek/skins". Moto would corresponde to your first skin in skins. Scarlet would corresponde to your second skin in skins. And Techno would corresponde to your thrid skin in skins. You would have to overwrite those 3 skins in "motorola/shared/jeodek/skins" with the matching gifs fr om your skin to show up while in java. You can't add any extra skin folders there only those 3 can be used.

Maybe you didn't understand my question...if I load a skin called GT3 to the phone making that 4 skins now to choose from and I then make a Java GT3 skin and place it in motorola/shared/jeodek/skins, when I select GT3 as my skin and then go launch Java, the Java GT3 skin doesn't seem to work. Do you have any clues on how to make that work?

You can't add any extra skin folders there only those 3 can be used.

Like i said the only way to have matching java skins is to make sure the skin you want to match is second or third and put the matching gifs in the correspoding folder in the shared/jeodek/skins folders. So say your skin is iPhoneMoto you would have to name it "MotoiPhone" so it is second or third in the skin selections.

Moto = motorola/shared/jeodek/skins/moto
MotoiPhone = motorola/shared/jeodek/skins/scarlet
Scarlet = motorola/shared/jeodek/skins/techno
Techno

Then you would go into "motorola/shared/jeodek/skins/scarlet" folder and overwrite the 8 files there to match your iPhoneMoto skin. With this setup Scarlet would now have the Techno java skin since it is now third. If you want 1 more skin to have a matching java skin you would have to name it so it's third and do the same as above only this time with the motorola/shared/jeodek/techno" folder. No adding extras get it.

Any idea on why I can't see the motorola/shared/jeodek/ directory in p2kcommander, but I can with QPST file explorer? Is there a setting in p2kcommander that I'm missing? It's like the directory is hidden somehow. I can use QPST, but it's a pain since I can only transfer the files one by one - and I get an error when a file name is more than 50 or so characters.

^^^Not sure if it is the same on this flash but normally p2kcommander will not display a folder that is empty. So if you can use QPST to write just one file into the folder and then hopefully it should be display when using p2kcommander.

Just use BitPim or at least that is what I do whenever possible.

My understanding is that bitpim can only be used to overwrite files, and cannot be used to create new ones.

Hey Goldmembr; question/thought for ya if you don't mind.

Curious, what do you think the odds are of doing this flash on a VZW v3c flashed to Alltel fully working, but following the USCC v9m guide taking into account the things shown on the Telus k1m guide that are not on the v9m guide. Only reason I ask is the process is a lot simpler IMO using the v9m guide. I'm more then willing to be a guinee pig on it if you think it is possible, if not I wouldn't try it then. If there is anything you can add or mention I'd need to watch or do feel free to let me know. Kinda just a thought I had over the weekend when I was going to do this , but got side tracked with a family issue that needed to be addressed.

Yes, go ahead and do it that way with the addition of the java elements with P2K Commander.
That is basically what I did on my V3c using RSD General, QPST and RadioComm.

This flash overwrites very little in terms of the MMS seems etc. so if you have everything working properly you should only need to flash and write the secondary MIP profile with the service programming and then add the java elements, mma files and 2742 and everything else is preserved and should work.

Edit: This flash did corrupt my contacts and I had to use MPT to write the phone book because RSD errored on erasing the corrupt data. After that it all worked normally again and RSD was able to read and write the phone book file.

Hey all -

GoldMembr - finally got the java icon to show up, I think it was a problem of using bitpim -vs- p2k commander to move those files around.

2 problems left. 1 - when my phone starts up, I get my MIN(MDN?) instead of my phone number and 2 - MMS isnt working yet. I think the MIN/MDN conflict might have something to do with it.

I'm going to pull my browser file tonight and make sure everything matches up. As for the wrong number coming up at startup, I'm at a loss.

True of False - you can do a *228 with the telus flash? If false - there's my problem.....probably the first of many n00b mistakes.

I just tried again using p2kcommander and got the same results. I've done the Bell flash several times before, so I'm fairly certain I haven't missed any steps. I've tried both of GoldMembr's mma sets, the first one, and the second one with the fixed Car Settings and included gifs.

First totally delete all the gifs with BitPimand don't use BitPim to add files anymore. Then use P2KCommander to reupload them and set the attributes to "0005" Only use BitPim to overwrite files already there or for Java Apps and Games.

Thats not right the iPhone skin has 24 dats and 1 ski and the iPhone cli has 4 dats and 1 ski and 1 iPhone uisounds ski. So you should have 31 files all together not including the skin.handle file.

Here's iPhoneMotoX that i converted. It's different than the normal iPhonMoto skin.

Stigmata - just do exactly as Goldmembr says, I ended up using Bitpim to try to get the files on since P2k Commander was doing that thing where it only loads 1 file out of the 280 some...strange. I had to first go back in with Bitpim and get rid of what I had already put on there...other wise P2K would give me a INVALID DATA LENGTH error. Go back in with P2k once deleted and create those directories and load the files.

So does anyone know if Telus firmware allows a *228?

Yeah, got it working now. I noticed something else though, that I first noticed in previous flashes. Directly after the flash, before applying any fixes, I found four bluetooth services, including DUN, but after applying the fixes, the DUN disappears. I've done this a few times now, I'm guessing that it's because I'm replacing some files I don't need to replace.

lucsteva: at the bottom of Mark's guide for using the Telus firmware on the K1m/V3m, it says the Telus allows *228.

Thanks - I thought a *228 worked with Telus...I guess I broke my MMS doing something else. Like I said before, after the flash, the phone number that usually pops up when I turn my phone on changed to my MIN. I think that probably has something to do with it.

I'll probably end up monstering back to Verizon, get everything working (CS is probably tired of hearing from me) and do it again.

My MIN and MDN also don't match, and I've never had a problem with it, in all the flashes I've used (Telus, Bell, Alltel, USCC). Did you use the seem 275a fix?

That happens infrequently and you need to reboot the phone or re-pair with the PC or both sometimes to fix it.

EvDO DUN works fine with the Telus V3c firmware using the secondary MIP profile.

I tried rebooting the phone and re-pairing several times, and DUN refused to appear (at that point I had the alltelappmgr.bar from the Telus filesystem dump), so I tried copying over the alltelappmgr.bar that was originally on the phone immediately after the Telus flash, and at that point DUN came back. I put the alltelappmgr.bar from the filesystem back on, and DUN disappeared. I don't know what happened, it was probably just something stupid on my part.

A new problem: certificates? I tried running Gmail and it said that the phone lacked the necessary certificates, and there are none in the Telus filesystem dump, so I tried using the ones from the Bell filesystem but it still didn't work. I did a quick search to see if there were any other Telus filesystems for other phones out there, but didn't find anything.

With that fix, would there be any point in keeping the certs from the Bell filesystem? Or taking the certs from the Telus filesystem for the K1m and putting them in? And if so, where? If you replace all the files in "brew/mod/jeodek" and "motorola/shared/jeodek" not the skins just the java system files with all the files from the Bell V3c filesystem dump Gmail will work fine. I had that problem and that's what i run on mine so just do that.

Ok, a question. I've successfully flashed and I've got java working. I installed opera mini, and that works just fine (even connecting at EVDO speed). However, is the native web browser supposed to work? I launch the native browser from the wireless web menu, it says connecting, and then says "network connection lost". Every time. Yet, I can connect to the web with opera mini. I've verified that my vzw web session is configured correctly. Am I missing something, or is this just the way it is? I've played with the alltel, vivo, pelephone, and generic firmware, so this is by no means my first go around with this stuff.

On another (and probably related) note, I also don't have mms working yet. I've verified the settings (made sure that I have the vzw_mms configured correctly and that it's specified as the messaging server, etc.)

How is it that I have data working with opera mini, but nothing else?

Well I ended up doing a browswer reset in the setup menu, and that did it. The vzw session remained so I launched it and I'm now able to use the native browser. Haven't experienced that one before. Odd.

Great, got Java working completely, and somehow in the process got Google Maps working, something I could never do while on the Bell firmware.

For some reason this firmware really hates me. I've tried flashing 3 times and just cannot get data working. I've tried everything and just keep getting Authentication Failed messages. What's worse is the fact that I can't get the phone to go into test mode! I can set test mode to on but when I reboot it just boots normally. When I go back into the "secret" menu test mode still shows as "on" and even if I select off it still stays "on". I've flashed dozens of phones and never had problems like this.

I've tried swapping ESNs, I've tried *228, I've tried loading the HA and AAA from my known working Verizon flash with QPST. Nothing works.

Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

I've had data break to the point where swapping out the ESN didn't fix it. When that happened, I just flashed back to Verizon and called CS to get them to fix it (there's a number of things you can tell them, I like to use either MMS or GIN not working), and they'll work some magic on their end.

As for test mode, hit the clear button and then the left softkey when it's enabled. I just checked my phone and it looks like the checkmark is stucked next to enabled, although I can still enable and disable it fine.

I think I found my problem. I was trying to write my 275a seem using Bytes = 00. Apparently that doesn't work. I thought I was writing Goldmembr's 275a seem with the his 275a hack already applied but I hadn't.

and now I have data working.

Would one of you experts be willing to share what process you followed and what extra steps you needed to do to get this working. I know I'm missing something, probably with the m.ip settings. I can get data to work on the Verizon flash and the Alltel flash but as soon as I flash to Telus, data is gone and no amount of swearing and fist shaking will bring it back!

Go to the 1XRTT Settings by typing in ##DATA and set it to yourphonenumber@vzw3g.com and vzw for the password. Open RadioComm and make sure that Seem 275a Offset 00f4 is set to 04 Then you need to open QPST Service Programing click read from phone and go to the MIP tab and click add. Make a secondary MIP profile and put all the same settings as the first profile and set it to use the secondary profile and write it to the phone. Do it all in that order without rebooting the phone just unhook and rehook it to the computer between each program you use. Then all your Data will work fine.

It's a small dropdown box in the middle of the window to the right. It is set to 0 by default wich means the first profile is active. So after you fill in the info for the second profile you set it to 1 wich means the second profile is active.

I think I got it but the ESN switcher appears to be down so I can re-activate my phone on my account. That or I've switched so many times they won't let me any more. I tried the CS number but I think it's too late. Probably going to have to wait until morning now.

Just try the ESN switcher again in a little while it goes down sometimes. Try not to call CS unless it's absolutely necessary.

Yes this will convert your V3m to a V3c, you just loose the use of the MicroSD card or essentially you turn it into a V3c. Just remember to flash it to the Alltel Monster V3c and to follow the Monster guide at Mark Venture's site to flash to the telus firmware for the KRZR guide. Can someone please list a short howto on flashing to this firmware and making it work with all links included. At this point I think that would be beneficial and prevent so many questions here (Goldmember?).

Hello everyone I have a verizon v3m and interested in flashing to the telus firmware I am fairly familar with the flashing process but was wondering do you have to do the intial flash from verizon with a monster or can a upgrade be used? Ive read the guide that Mark Venture has on his site about the k1m to telus and it states that a monster file must be used. does this hold true to the v3m? Also would the v3c monster be used?

After using the Telus firmware for about a week now I still have a couple minor problems that I can't figure out.

My telephone number still displays as my MIN. I think others have had this issue too. Anyone find a fix?

Probably related to the first but my voicemail number is also stored as my MIN. I can get into my voicemail with *86 but it would be nice to just be able to hold down the #1 key again. Does anyone know how to edit this?

Yes there is, and I have done that seem edit. The problems is, when I press and hold the #1 key it happily dials my MIN which doesn't do any good at all.

I need to find a way to edit the voicemail number on the phone to *86 instead of my MIN.

Try setting a contact as Voicemail (*86 as the number) and I believe you should be able to set it to a speed number key or try going to your text message center, select option > Voicemail Setup and change the voicemail number....or at least that is how I changed mine....

I did not do the seem edit. But was able to set up a contact for voicemail and set it to #1 and it dials out ok. I have not activated this phone yet. I did notice another issue with the date being listed twice on the outside lcd it reads THU1/3/08 1/3/08. I think Ive seen this before in a thread somewhere. Has anybody else experienced this? Also I have the same issue with the java icon missing on the main menu, it works just no icon Ive tried to fix this but have had no luck I dont understand this one. Java games do work.

Sorry for double posting

I took your advise and created a contact for voicemail and then set it to speed number 1. I had to undo the "voicemail on speed 1" seem otherwise it wouldn't let me set my newly created contact to speed 1. At least now I don't have to manually dial *86 anymore.

I went into options in message center and saw there is an option for voicemail but the only thing you can do in that menu is "copy text". Does anyone know of a seem edit to enable more voicemail settings?

My phone number still shows as my MIN as well which doesn't seem hurt anything except I finally has to learn my phone number! The only downside is I'm pretty sure MMS messages show as coming from my MIN as well. I don't send many MMS so it's not a huge deal but I would love to get this fixed. I tried swapping seem 275A offset 162 back from 0 to 2 but that didn't have any effect. If anyone has any thoughts I sure would be grateful.

Worked for me, my phone showed the correct number and my MMS messages came from the right number.

Still cannot receive MMS though. Anybody have any ideas on that one?

Thanks Lucsteva! - That was it. I changed the MDN in my CDMA NAM and now my phone number display is correct again.

I was a little worried after I restarted though, the ERI banner went missing and I was no longer getting EVDO. I did a *228 option 2 and restarted the phone and then everything went back to normal.

Martian - is your ability to receive MMS still good? I can send no problem, but can't recieve. No message alert, no nothing...the message just never comes thru, and the phone gives no indication that there is a message to be downloaded.

Just got my v9m though...so I'm less worried about it now. Still would like to get it fully operational as a back-up.

The Alltel monster will work directly over your current firmware as long as you have your 01d2 keys and other backups from the currently working phone to be used after the Telus flash.

Hey kbman, quick question on this. Are we better off flashing to Telus from an v3c with the Alltel Monster on it or can we get away with doing it with a v3c that was flashed long ago with the customer upgrade. I realize we need the Moto UI on it first but I've seen posted in a few place you need to start with a Monster flash. curious if that is true or not.

I flashed from the v3m 07 firmware that I had on my v3c to the generic motorola firmware yesterday. Took 2 tries but it worked.

First try it failed at 75%. Upon restarting the phone it started fine but the only thing that showed up on the main screen was the battery bar. So I tried it again and it went through without a hitch.

I think I'll just stick with this firmware for now. I don't really care much for the java stuff. I mean it's cool I guess. I had it on my e815 for about 2 days and flashed back to the original. To each his own though. Brew rules. LOL!!!

Well, I gotta extra v3c laying around thats already flashed with alltel. I guess I'm gonna flash it to the telus firmware for the hell of it. I'm bored waiting for the playoffs to start back up this weekend.

Anyways, is there a specific guide I need to follow to do this. Mark has a ton of guides on his site, do I use one of those. e815 bell guide or k1m/l7c telus guide maybe?

Yes you can flash to the Telus V3c upgrade from any data fully working moto ui firmware. Monster or upgrade doesn't matter. The only firmware you can't go from is Verizon firmware.

This includes:
Alltel Monster or Upgrade flash
Bell Upgrade Flash
Generic Monster Flash
US Cellular Monster or Upgrade Flash
Vivo Monster Flash

Well I decided to take the day off today and I think I'm going to do this flash being I have the time, and it's to dam cold to do anything outside ( chi town and the wind I tell ya...lol). Anywhoo I have everything I need I think. Curious as to one thing I'm either over looking or missing. Did anyone or does anyone have a Java pack ( ie games & apps) to upload to the phone after I get done. I didn't know if the one Goldmembr has in the Bell v9m would work or not, and I haven't seen any other one on the float at this point. - I have flashed with the Alltel firmware
- I have flashed with the Telus firmware
- I have reapplied the seem edits

But for some reason, my moto startup and power down animations are still saying Alltel? Did I do something wrong?

Some background information: I have an AMP'd V3m phone that I want to convert to Telus so I can use it in Canada.

That stuff stays the firmware you had on before the Telus upgrade because it's only an upgrade. In your case Alltel. You will have to change all that stuff over to the Telus file from the dump in the first post. Unless you know someone in at Telus then you are gonna have a hard time getting Telus to activate a foreign esn.

Crap, my first impression was that this firmware flash will convert the phone into a Telus-ready phone to be activated on their network. That was my whole intention of trying to fix up this AMP'd phone, so I can use it in Canada.

Only way to tell for sure is to call Telus Customer Service and say "I'm going to buy a Telus V3C RAZR off eBay and want to see if its clear to activate on the Telus Network can you please check this ESN for me? I want to make sure its not stolen etc...etc...

Then see what they say. Tell them nothing abouts its an Ampd phone or that you flashed it etc...red flag and they probably won't do anything for you. Good luck!

haven't tried them on this firmware, but I have the following in my notes....

Offset 1D Bit 3 - Motorola Startup Animation - check to enable, uncheck for "logo only"

Offset 31 Bit 0 - Motorola Shutdown Animation - check to enable.

I don't have anything about turning the sounds off... other than writing with a 0 byte file, or "dead air" file for the customer opening/closing sounds in the file system

On the Telus firmware once you uncheck Offset 1D Bit 3 - off it will disable the startup sound as well so you won't have to upload a silent mp3. You will get just the 5 second splash then custom animation that you have uploaded with no sound.

Anywhoo success 1st flash ever using a Java firmware. Altho 2 minor issues one of which is really no bother in all honesty. Curious if anyone has any thoughts on my problem. It's kinda complicated tho because of some idiot yesterday taking out a power line at the end of my street while I was flashing. At first I thought the phone was bricked, low and behold Kbman worked me threw it yesterday afternoon while I chilled at Starbucks so I had some internet to use ( many thx). I originally started this with the Alltel customer upgrade on my phone, and I did all my backups from it to use on this flash. Obviously while going to Telus I lost everything and it would only show the VZW splash and do nothing. Well in the end I got the Alltel Monster to take, went ahead and then flashed with the Telus file and followed threw the process doing all the fixes and so forth.

At this point everything seems to be working ( Java, VZW mobile web, freebie WAP from the sticky, sending pix msg...etc) except receiving pix msgs, and EV. I can send pix msgs to e-mails or other phones no problem. Now if someone sends me one it never even shows up. It's not like I get the msg of unable to download, just plain nothing.

As for EV all I get is authentication failed, switch back to 1x and all works.

Any thoughts on where I need to look would be great. The EV thing is really no big deal being I pretty much always force it to 1x because of my office switching back and forth all the time. On top of that when I did have this setup with Alltel customer upgrade I don't recall if EV worked then or not being it's been so long since I used this phone. So I don't know if that could be a problem because the backups may have not been correct, but then again I'm not expert to say the least so I've got no clue. Any input from any of you gurus would be great. Thx

To get EVDO working you have to do the 275a/b MIP hack then make a secondary profile in QPST and make it active. As for incoming MMS i never got it working on my Telus branded V3c so i can't help you there. I figured on the upgrade it could maybe work. I think KBMan got it working so maybe you can ask him.

I thought I had it working too, but haven't activated the V3c in a while to check it again.

One note is that I used the DST V3c monster as the base firmware rather than Alltel.
I don't know if this makes any difference or not but I would think not, given all the MMS stuff get overwritten.

I'm off to fatten up infatuated fools for Valentine's Day but I'll try to activate the V3c again in the next couple days and thoroughly reexamine the issue.

The thing to remember is that GoldMembr's phone has never been flashed and is not hybridized because it was purchased as a Telus branded phone.

Think I may know where I went wrong tho. I used your seem files you posted on page one. I just looked again at them and I noticed you have a different byte # ( which I should have looked at closer obviously) listed for the 275a file, and I think I may have pulled it up as bytes 0000 don't know if that would be an issue or not. Time will tell tho.

All good, when ever time permits for ya. The whole pix msging thing is really not that big of a deal to me anyways just seemed a bit strange. More then half the ones I get from people are just forwarded crap anywhoo.

On the EV thing tho. As I mentioned above I did the original 275a hack but not to the 275b. I noticed it states to do that then make the 2nd QPST profile and make it active. If I go back and do those 2 seems again using the correct byte # this time, will I need to do the 2nd profile again afterwards being I already did it, or should I delete the one on there first, do the seems edits again, and then make a new 2nd profile. Sounds like it needs to be done in that order which is why I ask. Last but not least would I then need to do and ESN swap or should it be good to go.

275a can be pulled with a byte length of 00 but can only be written back with the exact byte length of the actual seem data or less.

So, always pull it at a length which will include the bytes you need to edit, plus a few bytes,and write it back at that length.

Edit: It should work as you described but always deactivate when making any changes to the data profile to insure the network resets authentication.

It can work with out that, but it is always a crapshoot.

Quick question on this EVDO thing, being I messed it up obviously the first time. Is it possible to pull the shared secrets from my v9m backup seem file that I have from prior to flashing it to the leaked USCC file. Reason I ask is my laptop took a crap and that is where I had all these backups at currently. I normally keep copies there and on my desktop but didn't make the transfer and then this has to happen. I really didn't want to have to flash back to VZW if I didn't have to but if if I can't use the v9m backup file then I'll have no choice. That being the case ( having to flash back to VZW) I then may just move forward and use the newer leaked Telus file Goldmembr posted. Any input would be great. Peace

Need some help. I used Humpa's Alltel monster flash and then GoldMembr's Telus upgrade. Everything works...including EVDO. Java appears to be functional. However, I can't get WAP working. I get "Authentication failed."

Do you get that when EV is on? If so try turning it off and odds are it will work. reason I say this is I was getting the same thing until I fixed EV. Even tho EV shows that deos not mean it is working. My guess it once you switch your phone to 1x WAP will work fine.

Okay... I just tried this on my Cricket v3c and everything appeared fine.... then I tried to download Opera Mini. When I try to download a MIDlet it tells me:

"The application file (.jad) for MIDlet does not appear to be available. Contact the application provider for more information."

However, since I recently downloaded Opera on my Nokia... and everybody with a cell phone and a brain has it... I'm pretty sure it's not Opera's fault. Does anyone know what's wrong?

I have an IP based websession that has no user or password assigned using NowWap on my PC. As far as I know you can't have an username or password plus you also can't have a DNS, you have to have an IP. Or at least this is what I read and know works....if I have a combination of any of the above mentioned then I get the same error as you. Hope that helps!

Switched to 1X...same problem. I noticed the 1XRTT Data (myphone@vzw3q.com) won't stick which leads me believe I entered something wrong in the secondary MIP because I wrote GoldMembr's 275a and 2742 seems to the phone. I copied the data from profile 0 to a new profile 1.

I don't understand your listing of 72 for nai. The nai should be XXXXXXXXXX@vzw3g.com.

Everything else appears to be correct.

Make sure that the seem edit to 275a rec 0001 offset 00f4 is properly set to 04 to open the MIP profile.

Thanks kbman. I really enjoyed reading your thread on your quest for bell firmware on the 815. I didn't understand half of it, but I appreciated watching you and the others kick around ideas.

I'm having a bear of a time with QPST. Must have a conflict somewhere because it doesn't recognize my phone is connected and I get the blue screen if I unplug the USB cable.

As far as the "72" nai setting...my area code is 727. Maybe my phone number was clipped. If I ever get back into QPST, I'll enter "myphone number@vzw3q.com" under nai.

One of the reasons I flashed to Telus is the java so I can load Opera mini. I feel really close.

I got back into QPST and corrected the nai setting. I changed the active user from 0 to 1. And seem 275a offset 00f4 is set to 04. The 1XRTT DATA still won't stick. Perhaps I have a corrupted browser or I may have missed copying some files from the Telus dump because WAP should work at least under 1X.

Then I downloaded kbman's "files each include the default VZW session, a VZW_MMS session for use with another carrier's firmware on VZW's network, a Google free WAP session using Google as a proxy and a freebie session using a free proxy". I even deleted my websession and reloaded with these. No good!

I was getting to the point where my only option was to flash back to verizon and try again.

Then on a hunch, I changed the 1XDATA from myphonenumber@vzw3q.com to [email]myphonenumber@vzw3g.com[/email]

Voila! Woot, woot, and wahoo!! Jackbo's got free WAP.

Heya all, finally got back to getting this flash finished up I'm hoping. Curious if anyone would know why the Data Connections does not show up under setting>security after flashing to this Telus file. I did in fact check the seem edit and it is showing "on" ( ie bit 3 checked) but nothing display on the phone. That being said I just wanted to go in and make sure it was set correctly.

As for my EV issue I had posted earlier in this thread. I didn't do anything over again just yet as suggested by kbman & goldmembr being everything is working except EV for data, and not being able to receive pix msgs. Just for the heck of it b4 I went back and did there suggestion, I used RSD General to pull up the EVDO part of the phone. I noticed for some reason is was still saying ......@alltel.net, I left everything the same and just change the @alltel.net to @vzw3g.com and then wrote it to the phone to see what would happen. After it was done went and changed it from 1x back to EV to test it and bam done deal EV was working for WAP. Keep in mind I've never even done a *228 to program this phone either since my first nightmare and having to start over, and I didn't write the shared secrets being I did not have a backup of my cdma_sec file either. Got it all working with backups from an Alltel upgrade flash from a few years ago prior to bricking it, then just throwing an Alltel monster on it going directly to Telus, used the old backups and all is good, except my question above about 1xrtt, and the receiving pix msgs issue which sounds about normal from what was posted by our gurus.

You need to use ##DATA then security code to access the 1X RTT data settings on the Telus firmware.

The reason is that they don't use MD5 hash to display the password or any of the hall of mirror schemes that VZW uses to hide the password. It displays the actual password itself that is used for authentication which is the ESN in decimal..

I must have let the computer search for a driver one time and it chose one that didn't agree with QPST. Once I realized that and changed it back to USBMOT2000.INF Now everything works fine.

On another note, I'm like Aixelsyd. I can't get EVDO to connect either. I used GoldMembr's 275a seem and double checked to make sure offset 00f4 reads 04 and not 03. I made a secondary MIP and selected it for use. I even disabled profile0. Data will not stick to 1XRTT.

Does this mean I can't get java working until this problem is solved?

^^^Does your data services work on 1x at all? I've always been able to use 1x just not EV for data until I fixed it last night. I had gone over everything a few times making sure it was all right and it was. I originally had the 2nd Mip set up and so forth just no dice until just for the heck of it I pulled the EVDO info using RSD General and noticed it was still referencing @alltel.net even tho the setup was done per Goldmembr's & Kbman's suggestion. I changed the @alltel.net to @vzw3g.com. Cycyled the power on the phone, went in and turned EV back on and it worked like it should have been.

Now here's the odd thing I went in to ##data this am and it only was displaying a bunch of blanks spaced then @vzw3g.com, it's just my number was not displaying. So i keyed over and put it in, click done and got out. checked everything and all was working. Cycled the power on the phone and double checked ##data again and low and behold it did not stick but still everything is working as it should. At least at this point I have everything working Java,mobile web, sending of pix msgs, txt msgs...etc. Only thing that is not working at this point is receiving pix msgs which by the sounds of it is normal per Goldmembr & Kbman. Honesty could careless about that myself tho,if it is figured out some day so be it I'll do hte fix otherwise I'll live without it.

My suggestion is to use RSD General and read the EDVO info and see what it says on the screen. If it is still referencing alltel.net, change it to vzw3g.com and write it back to the phone and see what you get from there.

I've got a Verizon razr v3m flashed with the Alltell Monster file. Everything is fully functional (text, mobile web, etc.), though I don't use the Get It Now option.

After reading through this thread, I decided that I want to flash to the Telus firmware. I don't need the Transflash Memory, and I definitely don't need the Get It Now option, as I can download Java games anyway on the new firmware. All I really need is calling and text to work.

Just to make sure, what I would have to do is:

1. I have an Alltell flashed v3m with the Moto UI. I already have backups of my files.
2. What would I need to follow in this guide? http://mark.cdmaforums.com/telus_upgrade1.htm
(I already have the v3m flashed to Alltell interface, and I heard that all I would have to do is just flash to Telus using the upgrade, and restore some of the seems. Would I still need to restore the backups, or do they get transferred over the in the upgrade?)

I don't see why not....its no different then using your Verizon backups on a Vivo/Telus/Alltel flashed phone. I don't think you have to worry about it bricking your phone or anything like that. Besided just back up whats on there now in case it starts to continuously reboot and put it in flash mode to reload the original seems if that happens....

UPDATE

Ok, i fixed the icon for the menu, problem is i still cant load games/apps ont his phone. Im guessing i have no option other than to activate the phone to do so? Everytime i load P2KCommander with this V3M running the V3C firmware, it locks up and or causes a blue screen related to USB*something*.sys. My other V3m running the Moto monster and the V3A work just fine, no issues. I suppose even if it did work, i still have no idea how or where to install the apps/games.

My main reasoning for this is so the kids have a phone with games and stuff to play with instead of MY phone lol

Somehow i missed that post lol, thanks, i managed to load the "Test" programs, i think im still a little too asleep as i have to think about how to install the games i have for the kids but it did load up Splinter Cell and some other game so it does work

Not sure why P2KCommander dont like the phone once flashed to V3C firmware, i cant find anything on this via google, will try the forums but i havent heard/read anything about it anywhere yet.

Thank you for pointing out the link, im sure once i wake up i will figure it out

Don't know what version of P2kCommander you are using but the newer (4.x) versions of P2kCommander don't seem to play nice with my V3c. Version 3.2.6 still works great though so I just use it with my V3c. A little Googling (is that a word?) should turn up a copy of 3.2.6 for you.

the latest version of MSU DOES support Vista (32bit only, not 64bit).

i dont want to buy a xp copy and i dont have one the only copy is the one i bought for the used to be family computer thats trashed now and if i install that one then it will erase everything and it will not be a valid copy of windows unless they wont catch that

As long as the XP copy is not being used on another computer, it would be a valid copy, even though it didn't come with the PC it was installed on. And, I *think* you can install XP on your Vista PC as a dual boot option without it deleting/erasing anything. Worst comes to worst (this is if Windows computers can do this, my mac can), you could possibly try installing XP to a high speed flash drive. You could then boot up into XP from the flash drive. It will be painfully slow booting, but, you'd at least have XP. I did that with my Mac Mini once, I needed to have Mac OS 10.4 for a project but didn't want to erase Leopard (10.5) from my mac, so I installed 10.4 on my flash drive and booted from it to get done what I needed to get done, then formatted the drive after I was done.

You sure can do it. I just bought a brand new Dell XPS M1530 that came with Vista on it. I did completely wipe it first and did a fresh install of only Vista and dumped Dell's image drive and BS software to get the space back along with there stupid MediaDirect seeing as I had no use for it. Gave me about 13Gb of the hard drive back thank heavens.

Anywhoo just got done this afternoon setting it up as dual boot and have not lost anything and have both OS running with a bootloader program which is all you need after install XP. I used VistaBootPro which works great IMO. I actually have it set to have XP be the default OS even tho Vista is on driver C:, while D: is XP Pro, and E: is the data/programs drive. Heck being it was so simple I may go multi-boot and throw Linux on a drive just to toy around with it.

I'm not going to get into how to setup a Vista & Xp dual boot but I will supply you a couple of links to follow tho. In all honesty it's not hard, and the first link is all you should need but the other 2 are for references. Keep in mind they are referencing the comp I bought but the idea/process is the same tho. The key is to make sure you have all the correct XP drivers for your hardware setup prior to putting XP on it tho if you want all your hardware working. FYI this can be a pain if the comp you have purchased is an OEM being some of there new comps do not have drivers for XP. Like in my case I had to pull all the Dell Vostro drivers seeing as they ( ie Dell ) have no drivers/support for the XPS line with XP it's Vista only. However I found that the hardware of a custom setup on the Vostro uses the same hardware as some of the XPS series which is how I found out what drivers I needed.

First of all, this is the Verizon forum, not alltel. Second, the question is valid as the user needed to know how in order to perform hacking, which this thread is about, since the programs dont run well on vista. If anything, your comment was more off topic and used to "hijack" the thread.

If my memory is right I was not able to get data working until I did the 275a bytes
0100 rec 0001 offset 00f4 set to 04 with P2Kseem. My 1xrtt password was wrong and my phone number showed up wrong but all data works. Now I am fighting with MGMaps.

Yeah, i had the same problem, i didnt get it to work, put back on my V3M firmware and got tethering working lol. I will hopefully be activating a new account this next month and can try again on it. I am on Cricket so all this may be different for myself but i suppose i'll find out

I just flashed over to Telus on my v3m about a month ago and it's working great. I do have some minor problems that aren't much of a big deal, but maybe you guys know an easy solution.

1. The date on the outside sometimes displays double. It will have the time, and then under that it will have: THU 6/5/08 6/5/08 . This has happened on June 2 and 3, but went away on the 4. It has come back today though. Also, the inside date displays fine.

2. My ESN is way wrong. In Phone Status -> Other Information, it says my ESN is 02006506547. My ESN actually is an 8-digit number. The ESN it gives me also is not the decimal equivalent of my ESN. I'm just wondering if that might lead to other problems. Probably not, as everything's working.

3. Can I get the java version of Google Maps on my phone? Google won't let me download it manually and transfer it over.

4. The delay on the outer buttons to change the Ring style is gone. When I press the up or down button at all, the ring style selection pops up. Obviously, my pocket has been changing my ring style constantly. How can I get that delay back, where I have to hold down the button for that selection to pop up?

The Telus firmware reports your ESN in decimal as opposed to Hex. Fire up the Microsoft calculator and use the Dec to Hex conversion and it should make sense.

Yes, Google maps works fine. You will need an unsigned .jar. There are instruction on manually loading Java apps earlier in this thread

This was an added feature in the V3m firmwares. By going back to a V3c firmware you lose that feature. There is no known way to add the delay on a V3c firmware.

You have to use the QPST Service Programing feature to make the secondary MIP profile and set it as active. I believe you can find directions on how to do it on Mark V website somewhere. Use P2KCommander 3.2.2 or 3.2.6 to upload the java file system files not QPST or BitPim.

i started all over. v3m monster vzw, v3c monster alltel, then the two upgrade firmwares for telus. im trying to load the QPST programming but i get file load failed: invalid pointer, then it complains about the roaming list not having any data, if i fill that preferred roaming thing with my CMDA preferred roaming file the write just hangs. ideas?? still need help with tha server tho.

I personaly do not recommend the second Telus update 6.08. I had that on my phone a couple days and did not like anything about it. Just remember it causing problems.

lad; what version of QPST are you using?

try this one out. Java sounds cool.. But I'm really curious about Vcast sound and the media player.

Could someone let me know if they have sound in Vcast videos?
Also what is the media player like compared to the Alltel one?

Vcast won't work on the Telus flash. You can't have Brew and Java at the same time it's one or the other.

As for the mediaplayer there is none seeing as the flash is for the v3c and the v3c never was designed for media seeing as there is no TF card slot. It just has the standard Moto sound player like the Alltel v3c flash has.

What are you using to make the folders and upload all the java system files? You must use P2KCommander 3.2.2 or 3.2.6 nothing else will work. Upload all the java system files from my dump to the corresponding folders as follows.

If you have an unauthenicated proxy you can download google maps version 1.4.5 (works on V3C w/java) into your phone directly from this link. Put this url in your phone browser http://harpweb.com/gm and click on googlemaps. I have to warn you if you manually installed apps on your phone this may delete some for whatever reason.

i got Motorola V3m , and im not recieveing tex msgs in arabic language,. One of my friend got similler one and recieving everything fine. i checked his software version. it says NCR_01.09.YM and language 0032.

can anyone help me to get this software. or any software version having arabic language. kindly help me ..

It is an Isreali CDMA carrier and has English, Hebrew, Arabic and Russian.

If you suggest a free file hosting site that you are able to access then I will upload the flash file to that site, if possible. RapidShare is the easiest to use for most people and the one place I know that hosts files on their own server does not have this particular file on their site.

Okay nice it works but there is small thing i need your help on it guys please please .
PCL_V3m_01.05.00R_HA_Monster_03 it have arabic menu and it recieve arabic msgs. BUT MAIN THING IT CANT Write arabic letters. it shows two language on writing Engllish and Hebrew .. tellme what to do . how i can edite this setting and make the writing languages English and Arabic. my friend phone languge details. Shows 0032. and mine 0012. tellme what file can i copy from his mobile to mine to edite this issue of writing. or can you get me Kindly Motorola V3m or any Language pack for CDMA v3m. please faithfully if you complete your help with me..

Unfortunately, unlike GSM firmwares where the flash files are divided into different code groups for the various components like the flash, flex and language packs, CDMA firmwares are generally composed of just two code groups, the RAMDNLDR is CG1 and the rest of firmware components are contained in CG2 including the flex and language pack and firmware itself.

We have no options yet for compiling our own flash files successfully, so we are stuck with whatever gets "leaked" or found in the wild by whatever means.

Most Arabic speaking areas of the world are virtually all dominated by GSM, so the availability of such files is extremely limited, particularly through the usual means of acquiring them.

u can send messages on arabic only using copy/paste hint (make event in datebook, then copy text and then paste it into message)

i think other input languages disabled by SEEMs, because phonebook and datebook supports arabic and russian.

2All: one more thing about Pelephone monster:
it has some menu disabled:
Phonebook-Settings-View (All or Primary Contacts)
Personalise-Home screen-Home Keys: no edit for "Left key" and "Right Softkey" (100% its not MMA_UCP)
Engeneering menu - Extended NAM - True_IMSI

ok listen now when i installed this PCL_V3m_01.05.00R_HA_Monster_03.rar it shows in the s/w version is NCR_01.05.HA
Tellme the sample mobile i got which its my friend v3m. it is shows no big differents.
S/w version NCR_01.09.YM . i think its also newest version then the one i installed the only differents they might changed the HA with Ym. only to.. can you assist me if there is PCL_V3m_01.09.00R_HA_Monster_03.rar
like NCR_01.09.YM
is there available new soft for this Israeli network?!

The HA stands for Hebrew Arabic...I don't know what YM stands for...Yemen??

As I said above, the availability of Arabic language flash files is extremely limited, and Pelephone(PCL) is the only carrier that I've seen files released for.

Yes my friend got this v3m Verizon logo on it from yemen.. ok listen im sure there is something i can edite through programs or some how to get this arabic letters to be used in sms text msgs. tellme is there afile i can copy it from the working phone through any prog to this one which not allowed to write arabic on it and it can solve the problem?? i dont know other guy said seems to be edite

You could try using the seem editor in that thread to read the seems like 2742 and 275a on your friends phone and try to isolate differences(difficult but safe) or try loading the seems from his phone onto yours (easier but more dangerous).

We don't have much if any documentation regarding modification of language packs or font behavior
because we haven't had much exposure to them and few users dedicated to doing the work it will take to do so.

Wondering, if I have a non VZW flash (nTelos - BREW) on my v3m already, is there any reason I couldn't just upload the modified seems, java files, and mma files to enable java? That's the only feature I really care about anyway.
