W810i please help!

I got this phone as a pressie 2 weeks ago and husband has thrown the receipt away. I was sending a text message and the screen flashed white for a couple of seconds. When it reappeared all my texts (inbox/sent etc) had disappeared. I tried to send another text and i got a message telling me that the messages are full and to delete some. I clicked on yes to delete and there is nothing there to delete! I now get the message 'message waiting. Messages full. Delete. Yes. No'.

I now can't send or receive text messages but funnily enough it will let me send MMS messages.

I have tried a master reset and have also tried the SE software update but to no avail. I tried taking the phone back to the shop but they won't do anything without a receipt. I've contacted SE and they said that they will have a look, but if they can't fix it they will not send me a new phone because i have no receipt and it will cost me money for them to return it to me.

I went to the phone repairs stall on the market and they said that they will reflash it for 20 pounds but it might not fix it.

Is there anything else i can try? I really liked that phone and have been nagging my husband for one for ages (my other phone is knackered). Please could someone help me?

did you do settings reset or master reset?

If master reset wont work you could try to flash it yourself? Or maybe use davinciteam.com if you dont want to try it your self...

so basically this is a new phone still under warranty from SE but they refuse to replace the phone if it is defective because u have no recieipt??? wow... u should ask them y u need the warranty...cuz it comes with warranty when u buy the phone and u have the phone so wat proof do they need that u actualyly bought the phone LOLZ? to me it doesn't make sense..

i dunt know how much 20pounds is but wotan charges $10US i think...sucks to hear that phone is defective once u get it...

This a pretty common problem in W810 caused by a bug. I heard a very similar case but in that one the phone was WSOD after that. You're lucky.

So it needs to be flashed.
I recommend to go Wotanserver. It's simple and easy.

I heard about a case like this too yeah, it has to fully flashed. Sorry mate.
