(it seems the new age polyphonics and ring tones are what is out there). This is OK if that is your age bracket...but for us it is not what we are looking for !!!

2. make your mp3 ringtones from whatever songs you want (30 seconds or less) 3. connect your Fido KRZR K1 Red to your computer with USB cable. 4. open p2k commander and from the top right roll down menu click a/P2k Phone system.... then open directory a/mobile/audio - there you should see your original ringtones labeled ~AlertFile0??.mp3 etc. 5. rename your personalized clips with original file names. then open the folder containing these mp3's in the left top roll down menu. 6. delete original file.(phone side) (copy them to a back up folder first if you want) 7. replace with your file of the same name. (left side to right side - copy button - bottom right) 8. close program, disconnect phone and restart phone. 9. on the krzr, go to the ringtone you replaced, and it should now show "apply as" in the options. 10. congrats - you have just put your own ringtone on your KRZR for free - repeat as often as you like - thanks for nothing FIDO. (btw - with this method you could have like 300 of your own ringtones on your phone - just use ~AlertFileXXX as the name of the file where the XXX is a number between 001 and 300...enjoy!) |

Really annoys me as the Rogers vendor sold me the Moto Tools and said it was "good to go" to d/l ringtones as he himself agreed that the tones leave something to be desired. All this locked and unlocked fone business is something new to us and never believed polyphonic ring d/l would be such an issue. |

I grabbed the lastest p2k I could find and I was able to edit my phone pretty good
Thanks for the awesome guide... if anyone has questions, just PM. cheers |
