Probably a dumb GPS Question

But, what is the GPS plug for on the back? Do we have to get a device to plug into it in order to use GPS. I thought it had GPS built in? I have had the phone for a few weeks and just NOW realized that the GPS thing on the back was a cover. I thought it was just a little tag saying the damn thing had GPS. Anyway, any clarification would help a lot. Thank you in advance.

That plug covers the connection for an external GPS antenna. Don't really know why you would need one though as most of the time when you are inside a building you probably know where you are. Maybe if you were driving a tank with no windows you would need one.

Thanks a lot, I was starting to worry that I had to buy something else to get GPS. I am very relieved that you cleared this up for me; and seeing as how I do not own a tank, I should be in the clear.
