Ok I got version 1.0.2 on there but then when I ran jailbreakme it said I need firmware version 1.1.1 so I went back on itunes and installed that.

Now I have a new problem:

The wi-fi bars are full and I visit jailbreakme.com in safari. I click at the bottom ("install appSnapp") to do the installation, then before the page can finish loading it goes back to the "slide to unlock" screen????????????????????????????????

WTF is going on? I tried this 5 times already. Is there any other way to do this? As in with ibrickr, does someone have a solution for the above?

As soon as it goes back to the Activate iPhone screen, Slide To Unlock and leave it at the Dial Pad for 5 minutes.

...just wait, it will work, but it has to be at the dial pad.

Your abosultely sure your at 1.1.1? You don't see slide for emergency in several languages do you?

When I have this problem, I restore the phone again. I leave it plugged into the PC, with iTunes closed while I do everything. If you have a strong WiFi signal, and a decent connection it should take less than a minute.

I'm having the exact same problem. I tried it twice. I have excellent wifi reception. Any other suggestions????

I had to keep running the install app until it did work. I think I had to try to install it around ten times before it worked. It will keep going back to the activate screen but just keep trying. Also give it about a minute before you start installing again if it didn't work previously. Make sure you have a strong wi-fi signal as well as well as make sure you have 1.1.1.

How long do I leave it for, does it have to be at the "keypad" screen?

No I do not see different languages at the emergency screen so that means it's 1.1.1 right, I mean that's what I installed?

how will I know that it's worked??

Posted by: stevenkha

Everytime you d/l it, it will go to the connect to iTunes to activate screen leave it at that screen for a minute and if it doesn't restart and show the large time screen then that means it didn't work. If it restarts by itself and you slide the switch over and it goes to the menu screen with all the icons then it worked. Just keep running it until it works.

I have to run it 7 or 8 times on average, but once I had to do it like 80 times. That's very annoying. I just let it sit at the activation screen for 90 seconds, then try again. If it does work, after about 30 seconds the phone should reboot. I have no idea why it is so unreliable.

Try this, make sure you put the full address such as http://jailbreakme.com and wait until the site is completely loaded ( you don't see the green color no more in the address bar) then click installapp on the bottom. I had the same problem as you before until i did this and it works every time. Once again, please wait until the site is fully loaded.

tried that, shouldn't matter though, the link at the bottom is to a new page which is independent of the information on the first page

I'll try it again though

I successfully went from 1.1.2OTB to 1.1.1 but it doesn't seem to jailbreak for me. I select appsnapp and go through the exact procedures but to no avail. I've tried it twice. Do I need to reconnect to itunes to restore it back to a fresh 1.1.1 and re-run ibrickr again?!?! I did that the second time to ensure that I was doing everything I was supposed to but it's been sitting at the dial pad for 15 minutes.

edit: I guess I don't have to reflash it each time. I just keep dialing 0 to get to the address book and keep trying app snapp if It sits for more than 5 minutes. 4th try....grrr....

Okay: Read a tip on a UK forum and it worked perfectly and immediately.

....if you're not having success then open itunes and connect your phone. Once itunes sees your phone and goes to the 1.2.3. steps of activation blablabla.....start the *#30...procedure. Once you select "install appsnapp" immediately reboot your computer without closing itunes. As it does that your phone is disconnected from the pc and reboots a free phone....

free at last.

i seem to be having this same problem. i already jailbroke an iphone a few weeks ago, but this second one i have is not rebooting after i install the appsnapp. i've tried about 10 times now (only once reinstalling 1.1.1).. i wait about 90 seconds before trying again.

has anyone really had to wait 5 minutes? i have a super fast internet connection if that matters.

try CARNAVAL...its works great too!
