Sony Ericsson in 2008? ( BLOG POST)

Let's think about the next year... What would you like too from Sony Ericsson in 2008?

My thoughts can be found here:
What will be the big thing in 2008?

what would i like to see?
i high end flip phone..then i'll be happy and they can release as many candy bar garbage phones for the next 2 years

a high end PDA with touch screen would sell like crazy in the US. right now touch screen is all the rage here.
The real issue for Sony in the US is ATT. while SE has some great handsets they still have to hope ATT will carry them in their stores. Without that their market is limited to people who don't mind spending 500+ on a phone. in the US that a very small segment.

Agree with you Sux.
This side of world needs an high-end phone with touchscreen. They would have my money in their bags right after an announcement.

Ah the gals again.
Yeah, the touchscreen is big, but this side of the world doesn't know a good phone if it shoved it's battery right up their... anyway...
The w960i would've been succesful had it be released a little earlier and been quadband and US 3G. Everyone thinks its an iPhone knockoff despite the fact that it's been in planning since before the iPhone was ever thought off.

It has to include a good music player, which the Walkman is primed for.
It has to have a good camera. No 3.2 MP crap. It really has to knock everyones sox off, 5 MP, autofocus, xenon flash, the whole shebang, and not k850 standard, it has to be better (I am a PERFECTIONIST)
A good video capture. Currently, only the Viewty offers that.
A large amount of storage, as well as the ability to store more. As much as 8GB may be, people feel assured with more.
Something fresh, new. The iPhone blasted with the way it used the touchscreen, not the touch screen itself. The shake feature on the W910 is a good sort of start, but this really needs something big.
A good screen if it wants mutlimedia. at least 3.2 "
A navigatable interface for the computer. Much of the reason the iPod did so well was that iTunes was so EASY. Hell, that's the only thing thats stopping me from buying the Zune.
At least 256 MB Ram with the Symbian OS. Windows has always bothered me when it came to mobile...
Oh, and good internet. Truthfully, its set pretty good with Opera 8, but SE should be fighting for par with Nokia, who admittedly has the best internet out there (Safari my rear end...)
And the whole shebang. EDGE, 3G, QUADBAND, HSDPA, and all the other newest technologies. We're lagging at 3G whilst some place are nearly at 4. Make the phone, let the carrier catch up, it creates a phone that will last for years to come when it comes to voice and data transfer.
Huff, huff, wow... thats a tall order... and it has to be incased in a kick *** looking phone. I personally think the W960 looks pretty cool. Anyone ready for the W1?

the se market would also grow here in the us if tmo would start offering se again.

I think that's generally true of both T-Mobile AND AT&T. As it stands AT&T only offers 2 or 3 current SE models.

I'd like to see the carriers step up and offer more.

got a rumor, P5i(?) and 2 other models are coming to T-Mobile, should be 2nd half (after 5 years)
MyFaves finally got a solution, the green light is on now

This is depressing. Nothing new was really showcased at CES. The W960 was looking really good till they tore off the HSDPA bands and made it only Tri Band. They coulda packed it in, and it woulda been the best phone on the market. Actually, it is one of them, but still gets crushed by Nokia N95 for the Camera and Quadband/Edge/3G support.

Hey come to think of it, does anyone think Apple or Motorola are paying off AT&T to NOT offer/advertise the good models? The W810 was amazing for its time, and the W910 is a pretty good music phone (killer by American standards), but I've only seen a few of each floating around.
I'm actually hoping for Verizon, I hear they may be going GSM open soon, but seeing as they're pretty much in bed with LG...
And TMO only supports one of the two triband bands, meaning my phone, and a lot of our phones, which we stupidly buy for features instead of call quality, become out of the question. I got lucky in that when I bought my fone, I didn't know that my phone was triband, and that I live in a region that supports my bands...

I just want the P5i.... it looks so sexy and features all the features that saitronprince mentions. I just want this phone now!

Other than p5i .... p7i also an other P-series (possible SE Fans creation) ..

Posted by: ThorBlaze Dragon

a K810 successor.....with 3mpx AF cam with LED light, may go to T-Mobile with AWS 3G support and EDGE (one of two phone besides P5i)

Fire Dragon, you might want to take a look at this: http://hk.phonedaily.com/news/?news_id=5372

It is supposedly the successor to K810. Notice in the 4th pic that the 3,6, and 9 buttons have similar camera functions as the K810's keys. Also, this phone has built in GPS as indicated by the 6th picture. This is the first time I've been excited about an SE phone in a loooong time.

I am definitely rooting for a P5i
