OK...thanks. To clarify, this is a new iphone with 1.1.2 out of the box. Can I install appinstaller directly or do I have to install jailbreak first?

Sorry for the questions. Just real new at this and I am trying to read as much as possible.

well, i'm not one of the experts here, but you will have to jailbreak first. I believe this can now be done with the new independence (for mac). http://code.google.com/p/independence/ the help file with this program will guide you through it. good luck!

Yep, that's right on!

The only other thing to add is that you have to downgrade your FW first to 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 and run OkToPrep before upgrading to 1.1.2 and jailbreaking.
