i tried downgrade to 1.1.1 and jailbreak but didn't get anysim to work.

i didn't bother going any further...

i can't figure it out...shouldn't have downloaded 1.1.2!

lol. read the threads guy. 1.1.2 OTB iphones CANNOT be unlocked via software right now.

i "upgraded" to 1.1.2 from 1.1.1 out the box.

ok, if its 1.1.1 OTB then ur not in trouble. just follow the guides very closely. head over to iclarified.com

it should if u have 1.1.1 OTB and follow steps closely

Instead of going jailbreaking at 1.1.1, you might want to try going back down to 1.0.2 and then back up to 1.1.2.

Personally, I can't understand why everyone wants to jailbreak at 1.1.1, as it seems to be the most troublesome (there are rumors of a new 1.1.1 that has the TIFF exploit removed or something...I dunno) - Anyhow, the jailbreak for 1.0.2 is EXTREMELY easy - Takes 30 seconds and 1 click.

Once you've done that, you can jailbreak 1.1.2 almost just as easily provided you've followed the correct steps.

Anyhow, if you have any questions, feel free to PM me, or look up my last 5 / 6 posts, which seem to be about the exact same thing

finished thanks to iclarified and everyone who made it possible!

so now i can't update firmware w/o jailbreaking again? i don't see a reason to update fw anyway.

for future reference, when new fw is available to download, how would that be done w/o losing all apps?
