Is there a way to have 1.1.1 installed and have service with a hacked iPhone ?everything I keep reading says I have to upgrade to 1.1.2 to get service again. Can I get it without updating the phone again and jailbreaking it ?

The reason is because when I update the phone to 1.1.2, them try to jailbreak it, I get a error saying cannot connect to iphuc.

This totally depends on what firmware you are using...

Originals:
1.0.2 + 3.14 = GOOD
1.1.1 + 4.01 = GOOD
1.1.2 + 4.02 = GOOD

Combinations:
1.0.2 + 4.01 = GOOD(?)
1.0.2 + 4.01 = Not Sure
1.1.1 + 4.02 = NOT GOOD
1.1.1 + 3.14 = GOOD
1.1.2 + 4.01 = IMPOSSIBLE
1.1.2 + 3.14 = FLAKY

Also, the jailbreak process for each firmware is extremely different from one another, so if you've upgraded to 1.1.2 thinking that you can use a 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 method, you're probably going to run into difficulties.

ust a slight update to your matrix there...

And yet another prime reason why I'm sticking with 1.1.1 and am reluctant to do the 1.1.2 "upgrade"...

Hahaha - when I said "GOOD" I mean it works - 'great' is pretty subjective, as for me it doesn't work any better than any other of the original combinations.
