I recently purchased a phone off a friend while traveling in australia, and am at a dead end in terms of unlocking the phone. The service provider is called Planet 3 (planet3.three.com.au), and although I have found a number of providers here in the states that offer unlock services for my phone, a Nokia N73, but no one seems to be able to unlock with Planet 3. Is there someone out there might be able to help, or knows of a company that might be able to help? Im at a brick wall with Planet 3 as I have no idea of who the original owner is (The guy i bought it off of found it, and couldnt figure out how to unlock it before I bought it). Anyone?

i was contacted by a few individuals who had supposedly been able to flash their phones and update them with new Nokia software, using the following steps:

I ran into a problem with the process, regarding my SIM card. Details as follows...
It took me a while but I was finally able to track down a data cable to connect my phone to my computer. I downloaded the Nokia software updater, as well as the NSS software. Here is the problem I ran into.
Since the phone didnt come with a SIM card, I didnt have one when I started the process. NSS recognized the phone, and I was able to select the "Write" mode after entering in the correct product code. I then went to run Nokia's updater, and when I did, I clicked along until it told me to insert a sim card. Well, I turned off the phone, and inserted my moms SIM card. I tried to restart the process, but NSS did not recognize the phone and it would not let me set it to write. the moment i put the SIM card in the phone, it pops up a message that says SIM card not valid, and I cant exit out of the screen. ( I can type in numbers which pop up on the keypad, and the *#0000# function still brings up my software version. Ive even tried two other SIM cards with no luck) Any ideas how to get past this? I think its some protection written in from planet 3. thanks for your help...
