The new V3a models are based on Qualcomm's MSM6100 and the RAM Downloader versions are all v0x00010A at least for right now. While they are compatible RAM DLers, totally different cheaper and incompatible chiopsets! The RAM DLer v0x00010C seems to cause troubles flashing away from under certain circumstance or choice of flash file. The RAM DLer v0x000108 is an earlier one only used for VIVO and Moviestar down in Brazil and Venezula. No comment due to no experience. The versions below are the oddballs that are always going to be real potenial troubles. In other words, these are definitely the BRICK makers! ------------------- Verizon's V3c Pink 01.18.05 is RAM DL v0x000111 Verizon's V3m 01.19.05P is RAM DL v0x000013 Sprint V3M 00.43.00P is RAM DL v0x000006 Sprint V3M 00.48.03P is RAM DL v0x000008 Sprint V3MRED 00.48.03P is RAM DL v0x000008 A lot of extra info not related exactly but should be helpful. BOTTOM LINE: V3a files ONLY for V3a phones, or you may and quite probably will be sorry. Some have gooten away with it, and then found doing the exact same thing for the 3rd or 4th time FxxxS upyour phone. PS - If anyone out there has the Alltel V3a monster or upgrade file, I would very much appreciate a copy it as I don't have it or have not seen it. THX. |

I accidentally downloaded a V325i flash (which is an MSM6500 phone, just like the V3c, V3m, and E815,) and subsequently bricked my first phone. I did recover it with a metroPCS flash for the V3a, but now can not use my Mobile Web or Axcess. Anybody got either:

Until I found out that it: - Does NOT Have 1x-EVDO - Has a nasty glitch with the alarm clock - Has No Transflash Card Slot. - Has Celltop (and the locked left soft key) Is Alltel the only carrier that sells the V3a? If not, where could I find other flash/flex/Monsters for it? If so, I have heard that the V3a and V3c are pretty similar hardwarewise. Could I reflash it with V3c firmware to regain that capability? The guy I spoke to at Alltel Tech (surprisingly knowledgeable) said that it only supports 1x-RTT, but if I were able to reflash it, it should work just fine. I'm not necessarily an amateur at flashing these phones, just an amateur at finding the files. Any CDMA carrier will work. That includes, I believe, Verizon, Telus, Bell Mobility, US Cellular, MetroPCS, and any others if I missed them. Thanks! Scott In Alltel's Country |
