Touchfree Jailbreak Issue

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I followed the instructions to downgrade, activate, jailbreak, oktoprep, update to fw(1.1.2) from itunes and then touch free jailbreak.

I have tried this 10 times with always the same result.

I get to the last step no problem.

I reboot after the touch free jailbreak. It then says once you reboot the phone will reboot itself one more time then you are good to go.

It has never happened to me yet. It reboots but never allows me to be good to go. I can't go anywhere. I am doing this so I can put in my stealthsim but cannot get passed this step.

Need more info. After it reboots, and it doesn't always do it by itself, what does it say? Slide to activate? Firmware version? You sure its 1.1.2? Does it say slide for emergency in multiple languages?

Sometimes it takes me like 80 or 100 tries to get jailbreakme.com to work. Just make sure you are on firmware version 1.1.1, and keep trying. Once safari crashes and you go back to the "slide for emergency" screen, DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PHONE. Your phone should reboot itself within about 1 minute. If it does not, dont turn off the phone, just try again. Sometimes it literally takes close to 100 tries, and I have no idea why. I wish it was more reliable.

EDIT: I assumed you are referring to the jailbreak part of 1.1.1. Is that correct? I have never had a problem with the jailbreak in 1.1.2. It should work so long as you properly installed oktoprep while in 1.1.1.

I have a method that works on the first try 100 percent of the time. After you have down graded to 1.1.1, you need to make sure your iPhone is connected to your pc and that iTunes recognizes that it is there. Run the jail break as usual and right after safari crashes and sends you back to the unlock/emergency call screen, reboot your CPU. Make sure you do not close iTunes and that your phone is still attached. Once your CPU is closing, iTunes will disconnect from your phone and it will force your phone to reboot as well. I've done this to three different phones and twice on mine and it worked every single time. Good luck and let us know if this helps.

By CPU, you mean your computer, and not the chip that is on the motherboard I am assuming....

Also, what's the difference in terms of data that is being transferred over the cable when 1) you are rebooting your system, compared to 2) disconnecting the data cable?
