ToughSkin Case for Q: Can it be modified?

I REALLY like the ToughSkin case (See Here) for the CDMA version of the Moto Q. I'm wondering however if there is enough material on the case itself that might allow it to be shaved down a bit so I can stuff a Q9h in there?

The difference in the dimensions are small:

Height: .08 inches taller
Width: .11 inches wider
Height: Same thickness

Is there anyone out there that has this case for the Q that might be able to verify if it can at least be stuffed in there? If so, I realize the softkeys are slightly different but that could be modified as well. To me, even though I don't have the phones side by side to compare, it looks as though most of the extrernal parts (buttons | inputs | camera) are all in roughly the same place but I may be mistaken there as well. I realize as well this case would definatly not work with the extended battery.

I emailed SpeckProducts and they said they do not plan on making a ToughSkin case for the Q9 which is really a pain but I'm hoping a mod might work.
