so i was following the guide all the way to Milestone 3 but used anysim 1.1...i than continued all the way to completion.(instructions on pg 3 state i should have used 1.2)when i found that my phone was still unlocked i thought i could just start again and install anysim 1.2 and continue from there...now my phone is stuck on the apple logo screen. did i brick it?
what do i do now? would a restore help and if so to what firmware?

can someone please help me.

thanks in advance.

I have a Blackberry 7290. Recently, it has begun popping up a message that reads "Uncaught exception: path must contain a slash". Googleing for this phrase returns zero results, and I am kind of at a loss as to what to do.

At the suggestion of another post (which this forum software is refusing to allow me to link ) I put the Cable and Wireless version of Blackberry OS 4.1 on the device. Since then, this message has repeatedly come up. The exact version is 4.10.256 (Platform 1.8.0.143). The C&W version was supposed to resolve errors I was getting about "Null pointer exception", which it did.

This error appears seemingly at random. I powered the device on, left it untouched for 15 minutes, and came back to see it on the screen. If I click OK repeatedly, it eventually goes away for a few minutes.

Has anyone ever heard of this error? Any ideas what I can do to resolve it?. Which was trigging the Null Pointer exception mentioned above. Some help would really be appreciated!

At lonchaco - WTF?!? You might want to try that questions in the blackberry forum? This is the section of the forum dedicated to the iPhone.

At Anthony 002. Restore your phone to firmware 1.1.2. Then immediately restore down to 1.1.1 using DFU mode. It sounds like you are familiar with that. Slide for the emergency call and dial *#307# and press call. Your phone will start to ring. Use the backspace key and dial 0, then press answer. Your phone will ring again, press answer, and put the call on hold. Your phone will ring yet again, press decline. You will now have the oppurtunity to create a contact. Make a new contact and add two URL's. The first is prefs: The second is http://jailbreakme.com Press the home button. Slide for emergency and dial 0. Your phone will ring. Answer the call, place on hold, and then decline. Open the contact, and click on prefs: Make sure you set autolock to never, and then connect to your WiFI network. Press the home button. Repeat the last process, but this time visit jailbreakme.com. Scroll to the bottom and click install appsnapp. Wait. After about one minute, your phone should reboot. If not, dont worry this is not uncommon, just repeat the process and visit jailbreakme.com again. Sometimes it takes literally like 25 tries. After it is successful and your phone reboots it will say slide to unlock. When you slide to unlock it will appear your phone has been activated, but will have no service. Open installer, and install BSD subsystem and OktoPrep. Then connect to iTunes and update to 1.1.2. Run the jailbreak software, which can be found simply by googling 1.1.2 jailbreak software. I would link you to it, but I am on my iPhone and cannot cut & paste (damn iPhone, :-)). Once the 1.1.2 jailbreak was successful, open install and add the source http://hacktheiphone.com/1.xml. Install BSD subsystem, and anysim 1.2.1u. Go into your preferences and set autolock to never, and turn airplane mode ON! Turning airplane mode to on is crucial. Run anysim 1.2.1u, and once the unlock is successful, reboot the phone, turn airplane mode off, and uninstall anysim 1.2.1u. VIOLA - you will have an unlocked 1.1.2. iPhone.

I did all this with my T-Mobile SIM in also. Good luck, it is very easy, even though it sounds like a lot. Just make sure not to skip any steps. If you need me, IM me on AOL. I am here for about another 90 minutes. GOOD LUCK!
