Can you share some of your experiences you've had with it so far ? I'm debating whether its worth paying $200 more over the S710.

I have only had mine for about a week so my overall experience is not based on alot of use yet but this is my impressions so far. My use is phone first with some PDA functions.

The Good: I love the size of the unit, It is large enough to give me a good size screen but small enough that I do not feel like I am carring a computer with me. I also, really like to have the Key pad on front, the spacing iof the keys is good and the Keys are easy to use and push. Set up was a breeze. I am on ATT and I put in the sim and it auto configured everything, then I was ready to go. I did also have to change time zones and location. but nothing to dificult. I have not been able to get Medianet to work yet but I really do not us Medianet. My email was super easy to set up as well.

the Keyboard works well the key placement seems good, but since this is my phone with a keypad I have very little to compare it to.

Speed has been really good, things load quickly and close quickly. Even though the 3G does not work in the US the internet speed is alot faster then my 2125. I was so worried about not having 3g I went to the ATT store and I set up a favorite on an ATT Tilt with 3G and I put the same favorite on the S730 and then side by side I push that link button at the same time on both phones and observed the difference in loading speed and to my suprise there was very little difference. The Tilt was slightly faster but the difference was never more then 2 seconds.

Overall reception has been good but with only a week and no travel with it, it may be to early to tell but so far so good.

Using WIFI is awesome it is very fast and it connnects easily.

Office Mobile is very nice to have.

I put my 2gb Memory card in with about 1000 songs on it loaded the library and WM is working great.

Lastly on the positive side is that it is a very easy phone to do alot with just 1 hand, From internet to games.

The Bad: NO 3G, I was set to return the phone because of this but I am going to keep it because I like it so much.

The Battery: I have been playing with the phone alot everyday and the battery has been lasting only 2 days, less then I am use to. Keeping in mind I turn it off at night while I sleep.

The Summary. I have really liked the phone so far I am very glad I upgraded to it.

Side note: I have been reading quite a bit about memory issues with some people, I have not had any issues that I have read about.

This is one little badass phone. Not having 3g means nothing to me since my provider doesn't have it to begin with.

Can't wait till Firefox comes out with their WM6 browser.

JDMBIKE, have you been able to connect to windows update? I can't seem to make it work.

siumai: i would say, it's really up to you to make the decision about the caveats of Windows Mobile standard (which you've been using, so i'm sure you accept them), and the lack of 3G.

If you want fast speed, may I suggest the S720 Libra, and a CDMA provider? For instance, I actually called Qwest (I'm in new york, not a coverage area or even close), and started an account; but never purchased the phone (i almost did). Once you have the phone, you should be able to use it on another carrier, namely Verizon.

Other than that, I can only imagine that with actual support (starting monday), this phone is just gonna get better and better. I expect HTC to offer an upgrade to WM6.1, which i can't say for the vox.

I have not been able to connect to Windows update as of yet, I have only tried once, when I recieved my phone. I also talked to HTC about a bios fix for the 3G and he stated that he thought is was possible but not likely to come from HTC since the phone was only released in EU. So maybe some cell phone genius can make one for us then we would have a complete phone!!

I've had my S730 about ten days now. I loved it right out the box, then started to hate it and was going to send it back. Then I got used to a couple qwerks and now I think it's a real keeper. I got used to the small keyboard already and love the compact form. It feels great to hold and very comfortable. Good RF is a biggie for me. This phone is even better than my nokia's I have used. It can get a signal where my nokia's failed. I never thought I'd be saying that. The earpiece volume is as loud as I can handle and sounds very clear. Web is fast enough on t-mobile's edge. Don't care about the 3g, or rather lack of. The battery is really surprisingly pretty decent imho. I have an extended due any day now anyhow.Yeah, when I check memory it is pretty low, but so far it has only warned me once to close apps. Not a real big deal. For big multi taskers it would probably be an issue I'm sure.I can web browse and check incoming messages at the same time with no issue, that's good enough for me. For me this phone gets two thumbs up. Better roms will be coming down the road and it will surely be an even better device.

Can anyone tell me what the sar rating is ? thanks !

It's not posted in the manual... I'd say your best bet is to call HTC customer support. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I went with the S710 because of the 3G issues with the S730. The S710 is a very solid Phone. Works perfect on ATT's network. You can find new S710's for $379 now.

i ended up selling my S730 because it was SLOW, had REAL memory issues and .. it was SLOW! the 3G was awesome, as was call quality and reception. otherwise, i was very disappoined. my trust TMobile SDA is MUCH faster to open programs and perform tasks. MUCH faster. the keyboard was a real pain to use as well, as opposed to the Pantech Duo i used as well, which has an amazingly good keyboard. i was also getting a LOT of "missed" button presses. even when just dialing a phone number, much less when trying to send off a quick sms using the dialpad, but it also missed lots of button presses with the keyboard. GPS was ok, but flakey. took forever to get a signal, but then it would work. but then it would shut down by itself without notice and i would stare at the non updating map for minutes at a time until i figured out it was the gps turning off. GREAT concept, but POOR execution. and even after a reboot with only google maps and windows live installed on the phone, i had less than 10kmb free (my sda, which is PACKED with programs has 28kmb free after a reboot!!) i wanted to like this phone SO much, but now, i feel like i am wearing an old nice comfy pair of jeans after going back to my speedy and reliable SDA.

Did you try to overclock the 730 or know what the stock clock frequency was?

It's funny, some people say the 3G isn't working and others say it does.

I also agree with you about the PanTech Duo. The keyboard is flawless on the device.
