I was when I found the WM6 BJII could not play my mp3s as ringtones if over 300kB. Fear not and hack not, use this simple Freeware editor to cut your 20sec rif and place it in My Sounds.

Simple as: Open File, Set begin; Set end; Save selection.

actually, there's a way to get rid of the limit completely:

i did the registry hack, but now when i go to set a music file as a ringtone, the selections are all grayed out...

whats the deal with that?

nvm: i deleted the key, rather than setting the value to max

any ideas on setting a song as a ringtone while it is stored on the storage card?

To use MP3/WAV/MID files as ringtones AND have them on your memory card is to put the files in your “Storage Card/My Documents/” folder. If it’s not there create it. Just drop files into this directory and they will appear in the Ringtones options list. Good Luck! ~Judge~ *** Alternatively you can place them in the root of you SD card. From i607.org
