I currently use moto slvr L7c, so far so good but not really happy with screen size and the video quality..Do you think a new moto rokr z6 m is really worthy of upgrade? I have touched and seen the rokr z6m but not so fond of slider, and the camera doesn't have flash! Does rokr has same feature as razr 2v9 or 8? Anybody owns the rokr z6m and like to share some info? I like candy and flip style...but slider? what you think?

I totally think you should get a Z6m. I also came from an L7c, because I was sick of flip phones, and I didn't think I'd like the slider form either, but it took me all of 5 minutes to start loving it. The L7c doesn't have flash, so I don't know why flash would be a huge concern for you, and also, flash on cell phone's isn't even very good on most CDMA phones, not worth the extra space the flash module takes up in the phone, if you ask me. Your cell phone provider should have a x amount of days to try the phone, so I say try it, and I think you'll really like it!

How is the rokr z6m screen and browser? How is the video quailty out of that 2 megpixel cam? What makes you think it is a step or many steps above L7c? Would you or could you be more specific? It is quite expensive to upgrade, everthing takes money, but if it is really that good I would.

The screen is nice. Browser as it internet browser or just menus, etc.? They both are good, the OS is a bit of an upgrade to that on the L7c. I never said it was step or many steps better than an L7c; if you're happy with an L7c, don't switch. The camera is good for a 2mp cell cam. I still wouldn't use it in place of a nice digital camera (not something I'd take my families christmas picture with).

The Z6m is an excellent phone in terms of call quality, screen size and resolution. The camera works as well as any inlcuded with a phone. Web browsing on the unit is comfortable.

You don't sound like you need a new phone though, you sound like you only want a new phone. What exactly are you looking to "upgrade" on by moving to the Z6m?

I am looking at quality video and camera with flash, so far my slvr is great in call, and text both mms and sms but video and camera is sucky! I do like to have flash and some smooth and quality video. I like the fact that any ringtone mp3 I downloaded from internet can be applied as ringtone, inbox, voicemail, etc. I think I will wait for razr2v9m or something similar sometimes in 08.. I have heard "mixed" reviews and experience from user of Rokrz6m, but more on bad side than good side, lots of bugs, slow performance, overpriced, texting issues, reboot itself after sliding for a week, etc... What is funny is, everyone who bought Z6m when asked how is the phone, they are just said it is good but no excitement of having new phones like those who get Iphone!

Probably more have than have not, had troubles such as those you mentioned with the Z6m, IMO. I have, including reboots but never a reboot on Slide up or down -could be an urban myth in the making. It's not a slow phone, in any area (ie: boot, moving througout menus, playing or viewing media) that I can think of either.

If you want a flash then the Z6m is not for you, period. I'm not so sure the V9m has a flash though, either. Not that I recall anyway, and I looked into both the V9x and Z6x units before deciding to remain with the Z6m. Matter of fact I don't think there was much difference other than one being a flip and one a slide.

Flash aside though I'd say the Z6m has everything you seem to want in a phone, and you obviously do want a new phone since you want the new features they offer. I can't speak for the (GeeksRuS 'n -we-geeks-have-iThings) iPhone -haven't seen phone outside media and have no desire to: I can't speak for other Z6m owners either; and given that these are only phones we're talking about how excited can a person be over a phone?; and since there are software issues requiring attending to I do want that done before I'll be fully happy with the Z6m; and that in our area (Bell/Ontario) a glut of handsets were released within weeks of each other so buyers are spread among the many new choices, speaking for myself .. I am quite satisfied with my Z6m. And I did take the opportunity Christmas lent to show it off to the younger folk in my family. They were impressed as they listened to music play when the phone rang, then discovered they could listen to MP3 music on the phone through either the speaker or through headphones. They were excited to watch clips and even a boxing match recorded from pay-TV on it. They were excited to see me send and recieve text messages, audio messages and video messages. And further excited to use it to create their own videos on it and take pictures too. They were excited with the quality of the screen, especially when it connected to the internet and even better did MSN Live, Hotmail and Facebook -among others- in such detail. They weren't impressed by installed applications but loved the games. So, yeah, people are excited by and with the Z6m. Just more reserved and perhaps the ones most excited are too young to spend time here.

Anycase, good luck. Hope you find exactly what you are looking for in the brand New Year.

The problem is I am Metro pcs customer and they literally don't have flagship phones for existing customers to be proud of or feel satisfied with. All of their phones coming out this Christmas are not what people expected. E2000 won't receive file transfer on phone book and multimedia from motorola phones, R410 is not playing mp3 eventhough it has qwerty, Rokr is not up to the hype among many pissed-off customers on several glitches, all of these have made me to skip upgrade, saving my dollars and wait for next crop of phones to come out mid 2008. Metropcs has price edge and service but I really feel so diappointed with their phones. Sorry no upgrade.
thank you

Guys, finally I pulled real trigger, and the Rokr z6m is the winner! Thanks for all infomation and expertise...the result is amazing...it is a step above the Slvrl7c.period. Excellent signal strength, can talk, text, surf, email anywhere in enclosed office building, only a few phones can do this. Can't say enough about this phone. Motorola all the way...
thanks

I have the Razr2 V9m & my daughter the Motorokr Z6m. This is my third phone in the Razr line starting with original. We just got them, but no problems & very nice phones.

Seems those buying the Iphone are almost a cult. Of course they are excited. Sometimes too the enthusiasm matches the $ spent or perceived elitism. Nice phone, but not particularly good for all & not especially suited for use in business.

I've outstanding service from the motorola phones.

Motorola has excellent signal strength, I have experienced this with other phones. They got this crytal talk and signal technology down real good. Nokia N series is another great phone line. Stay away, from Kyocera, some Samsung, some LG, and Sony ericsson, they can't run around bedroom/office and talk or text, you have to be at certain angel or spot to use the signal! I would stick with Moto & Nokia N products, they are proven.
As for I-phone...boy for $600 now $400 or less, you CAN'T shoot video! hell no.
