Need help debranding Nokia 6500 Slide

I've just purchased an unlocked Nokia 6500 Slide from a local vendor in Toronto, Canada. I've noticed a small "MiWorld" logo at the screen corner. After a bit of googling, I learnt that it's a mobile company in Singapore. Is it possible to remove this logo? It also makes me wonder what other modifications has been done to the phone (themes, wallpapers, ringtones ...etc). I guess I'm a bit of a purist and would like to restore the phone to a factory fresh state. Is this possible?
I've tried to "restore factory settings" - "restore all", but the phone will not restart afterwards and the screen will remain blank when I tried to turn it back on. After removing the battery and restarting, it will indicate that restore has failed.
I am a complete novice when it comes to unlocked phones and am quite confused by some of the lingos. I am not even sure if this falls under "debranding" or "modding" (or neither!). I apologize for being so clueless and will appreciate any help in this quest.
BTW I use an Apple G4 PowerBook OS10.4, but have access to An Intel iMac (Leopard), Window ME as well as Window Vista.
Thanks!

I had the Singapore version with the MiWorld logo as my first 6500 Slide, but the SIM card reader malfunctioned, & I had to send it back.
It is not different in any other way than the Euro version except for the MiWorld logo. You can't get rid of it, but you can change the soft keys so that it doesn't show up on the screen at all.
