When do you guys estimate Android will come standard on phones?

Yeah I think the same...From what I have read they have alot of work to put it on Android..Alot of bugs need to be worked out...I have great expectations for Android and I hope it does change the mobile phone industry for the better..We will see though..

Can Android be built to flash on existing phones? i'm thinking Windows Mobile phones? Or is the hardware requirements different from existing phones?

Short answer no. Most of the development/hacking will go into opening up existing android phones to get around the java sandbox.

This is killing me. Do you know what flash a WM5 Phone to have Android on it would entail?

It is all about drivers. The FIC neo1973 can run linux (openmoko, trolltech, and I would imagine Android) and also WM. It is because drivers are available for each item: aGPS, smedia graphics, LCD, etc. Eventually (1-3 years) you should be able to purchase unlocked handsets and load linux, WM, etc as you see fit.
