Hi, I was curious about the limited disk space for 3rd applications, so I went to try the method on this website

http://www.iphonestalk.com/how-to-f...ty-iphone-apps/

I typed all the commands as follow in the terminal. After that I reboot my iPhone, and all the icons in my spring board are gone!!

So, I was wondering how to fix it..

On the link, it says If something goes wrong, and your iPhone/iPod Touch repeatedly reboots or there are no icons on the SpringBoard, do one of the following: SSH into your device (if you have OpenSSH installed — see “Manually installing applications” on our Applications page for more info on how to SSH into your device) and re-enter that command: ln -s private/var/root/Applications /Applications

Restore your iPhone/iPod Touch using iTunes and try again (third-party applications will be lost).

So, I was wondering, how to ssh into my device, so that I am able to type that command to get all the icons back again?

Thanks!!

lol, I am very very stupid too now. I thought it couldnt be fixed, so I went to restore 1.1.2. So, right now, my iPhone is now at locked otb mode.. : (. I feel so dissappointed..I really dont even know what i am doing. I just unlocked to 1.1.2 (from unlocked 1.1.1) earlier this morning, and now, I just locked it back again -.-..sigh

And what's even worst, now my iPhone is stuck in this screen, saying that I should put in a valid sim card to activate the phone : ( I wonder if I can unlock it again if my iPhone is in 1.1.2 lock mode, does serial number matters anymore if I restore my iPhone like that?

maybe if you run independence you can activate it not sure just a sugestion

Thanks, I will give that a try, but the main problem right now is that.. I am not sure if the restore process upgraded my baseband. Also, right now, iTunes will not recognize my iPhone, saying that it must have a valid simcard in order to activate. And, I cannot access to my springboard, I am only stuck with the emergency screen =(.

This may sound odd, but this whole topic is coming off as a round-about way of the OP asking how to unlock 1.1.2 OOB.

If that's the case... <_< I don't know.

Right now, after trying everything, I have finally gotten the iPhone to go to the springboard menu. So, right now, I have installer. However, after lauching anySIM, it says that I was not able to unlock...=/

I have a question, when I install any third party apps (on my unlocked 1.0.2), I can only get enough apps to fill up the screen, but if i install more than three apps, the ones that were there first get removed from the screen. cant there be 2 pages of the homescreen? on a jailbroken itouch its possible, but I dont have it on my iphone, how do I get more space (not mb space, physcal space on the screen) for my 3rd party apps?

Install Summerboard from the installer will fix your problem.

I had this same issue about 2 weeks ago with my 1.1.1 phone. My phone actually turned into an iPod Touch and I had no icons. I had to restore the firmware and stuff.
