V9m music player troubles

I just got an Alltel V9m this week. I've tried to search for an answer to this on this forum and others with no luck.

On the memory card that came with it, 256 mb, I created a folder that says "music" I added a few mp3's to the folder.

When the phone searches for music, it does not find any. No error messages, no nothing. Its like they aren't there.

When I hook my phone up to the computer, it installes the drivers. But nothing shows up in my computer to open the phone up. I had to put the memory card in the adapter and plug it in to the computer that way to creat the folder and transfer the mp3's. I don't have Motorola phone tools if that makes a difference.

I've read the help message that is on the phone and i've down loaded a manual. The manual says to refer to another manual, but I don't have that either. I bought the phone off of ebay new w/o a box or manual. I've also called Alltel, but I have to speak with their advanced tech support for help, and they have already left for the night.

Also, anybody know how to create more speed dials than just 1-9? My understanding is it is supposed to have 1000 speed dials like my old V3c did.

Anybody have any ideas?

Was it the MP4 file format?

Are you sure it has more than 9 speed dials? I think my V9 only has 9, but the phone can store 100's of contacts.

The manual speaks of 2 digit speed dial. Every other razr I've had has it, so I wouldn't guess they would down grade on a new phone... So I would assume it has more???
