Use old screens for other purposes?

Have several older cellphones, some with nice colors screens (moto e815 and the like). Has anyone ever heard of someone using the screens for other purposes? Driving the screens from a PC or something kooky like that?

This is certainly possible. Cell phone LCD displays are made using the same basic process used to make computer and TV LCD displays. Each display would need a chipset to drive it plus software drivers to run it from a computer.
