Blackjack 2 Missing Keystrokes

In the Boy Genius Report article "Samsung Blackjack II vs. Motorola Q9: smartphones to the death," BGR wondered whether the Blackjack 2 had solved the BJ1's issue of missing keystrokes:
Sammy’s keyboards have always disappointed us. No matter what you do, if you’re a real fast typer, the keyboard will skip key presses. It is not a software thing, it is a hardware issue. It’s happened way back from the Verizon Samsung i730 and was definitely an issue on the last BlackJack. We’re pretty sure it is fixed on the BlackJack II, but we need to test some more.

Well, I didn't have a Blackjack I but I own a red Blackjack II and I definitely notice that it misses keystrokes when I type quickly. Before owning this, I owned a Samsung i730 from July 2005 through December 2007, and it suffered from the same problem.

I'm wondering (i) if anyone here has experienced the same problem with the Blackack II and (2) is there any way to fix this?

Slow down when typing.

I dont have this issue. How do you know it is actually missing the keystroke or if you just didnt type the message correctly?

I'm quite sure it's becuase I'm typing too quickly for the keyboard. For example, there have been a couple times when I know for sure that I typed "www" but the device only picked up "ww." This is a known problem for previous Samsung devices so I'm pretty certain it's an issue on my Blackjack 2.

To the first responder, I shouldn't have to slow down my typing. Other companies (e.g. Motorola) manage to build devices that allow quick typing - why should we expect anything different from Samsung?

Update: I just did a test. I created a new message in Mobile Outlook and repeatedly tried typing the word "good" (with a space between words). I noticed that the device tended to skip either an "o" or the "d," almost always when the word was at the end of the line and had to be pushed to the next line. It's as if, sadly, it was too much information for the device to process at once (i.e. handling all 4 characters plus skipping to the next line). Disappointing.

I'm also disappointed with the speed of the device while in Outlook. When creating a new message, there is a 2 second lag. Maybe overclocking the processor will fix both of these issues. Otherwise, I'm extremely happy with the device.

I had this problem on my original BlackJack. I got real accustomed to the keypad and got real good at shooting out emails and text messages. It was common for me to type out a message and say I typed the word "condom", it would miss the "m" even after pressing the "m" key. It got annoying buy I got use to it.

I thought I'd rehash this thread now that more people presumably own this device. After owning the Blackjack 2 for over a month, I haven't experienced any improvement over the missing keystroke issue. Every time I type an email or text message, I find that the device misses at least one keystroke. I think this problem is mainly a result of the Blackjack 2 not processing the information quickly enough. I doubt there are any solutions to this problem (other than maybe using software to overclock the processor), but thought I'd bump this to see if anyone has any ideas. Overall, I've been very happy with this device, but I've been extremely unhappy with the device's ability to process keystrokes. Fast typers beware of the Blackjack 2.
