New Treo 750 says G in signal bar

Hello everyone, thanks in advance for any input on this. My wife got a Treo 750 for Christmas, and I got it activated and everything. But on the top of the display where it would say like G, E or 3G, it always says G. I have an iPhone and a Blackjack, and in my city we have the Edge service. (No 3G yet) And on my other phones they both say E at the top. Is there a setting that I need to change? i tried to post this in the Palm board, but realized that was for Plam OS and the 750 runs Windows.
