I have downloaded trekbuddy and amazegps to the computer but can't figure out where or how to install either on the phone. I have gagin, the patch, and balpatch9. All are working but I don't know what directory to upload the .jad and .jar files to. (Pardon my dangling participle. I'll wear a long coat next time). Does anyone have any suggestions? Will either of these work with my Chocolate? Are there better programs to use? Will I be charged for airtime? Sorry, I am new to this. Thanks in advance.

The VZW LG VX8550 (Chocolate) uses BREW (not Java) and only BREW applications from VZW's Get It Now can be installed and used on the phone. So, in terms of GPS, you can basically use something like VZ Navigator from VZW.

Thanks for the quick reply. I d/l'd vz navigator a couple days ago with a free trial period. Verizon was generous enough to give me a whole day (I think) to try it. I don't know because the next day when I actually left the house and tried it the trial had expired. I'm sure Mr. and Mrs. Verizon are hurting because I won't pay the $9.99 a month for this service on top of the $100+ I'm already paying but couldn't they give me enough time to actually try it?
