I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to get the DUN capability back on my E815. I recently purchased a refurbed one and when I activated it via the Verizon website, the firmware 1.1E00 was installed. I read over and over in the closed thread and checked out the steps listed on Mark Venture's Verizon Page on how to get the DUN to work with 1.1E00 firmware. However it's extremely confusing to me. I'm complete novice with this. I'm thinking it might be easier to flash back to 1.17.03 and then use the ##DIALUP. Any thoughts? I'm wondering if I do figure out how to flash back to 1.17.03, will I be able to activate it with Verizon without them updating it back to 1.1E00? I just don't know what to do here. I know the directions are spelled out for me, but it is very confusing. I honestly can't justify a 60/month verizon bill for maybe 1 data transfer a month with the phone. I've used it in the past only when in a serious bind (not being able to find wifi for my laptop in some remote location - which by the way I am on a Mac platform if that helps). I really appreciate if anyone can dumb it down for me and help me find a way to get this thing working as a modem again. Thank you very much ahead of time for your help.

The easy way if you are a Windows XP user...

So you are just doing a quick edit to the Dial-Up Networking icon you created... (If you don't know how to create, see -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/V710_EN_PC.htm , which is also linked on that DUN.htm page)

Or, get the 1.17.03 flash file from -> http://www.humpa.com/vzw/ and follow -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/HowToFlash.htm When completed, dial *228, press SEND, and select option 1. When that finishes, power the phone off, unplug it, power on, and you are ready to use.
