If I ever have to return/swap my iPhone

I have been wondering for a while that what if I need to swap my iPhone out for a new one and it hasnt been activated? I jailbroke it to bypass activation and to avoid the 2 year contract and losing my gov't discount every month.

So, if I needed to swap it out what would I need to do to make it go smoothly?

You can simply just restore the phone using itunes.

Yes I know that but if it's not activated when I take it in will they switch it out?

No if it is jailbroken, unlocked, etc..... apple will not replace it!!!

well if you restore it and walk in with an iPhone that is still on the activation screen, it's tough for them to take a look at what's wrong with your iPhone. So I'd be inclined to say you need to legitimitely sign a 2 year. Just get it over with. I did it in October.

Another reason not to hack my iPhone.

"hack" it all you want with jailbreak, hitting restore in iTunes brings it back to stock. But I brought my phone back to stock recently (I just like things being official for the time being (despite a few cool jailbreak features)
