i'm new to the s620... but not to tweaking phones.

i've flashed from the old dash ROM that was on the phone to the latest htc rom and have everything set as i want it.

where i'm getting stuck is on remapping the tzones button. i can't seem to locate any decent tutorials. i'd like to remap it to the calendar.

any help much appreciated... even if it's just a link to the appropriate tutorial.

thanks!

access that .lnk file via Windows Explorer. You must unhide system files.

Copy the file to your desktop, open notepad, then open the file... edit, save and move back to your phone.

perfect!!! thanks a ton!!!

EDIT: i found the "file" but it has no .lnk extension on it (has no extension at all) and is 0kb. i can't even edit it when i copy it to my computer... even if i add a .txt extension to it because it's a 0kb file.

Do I just create my own file and add the appropriate line?

You can do that, sure.

The .lnk extension will be hidden no matter what. That turns the flat-file (aka text) into a shortcut (on a windows PC or windows mobile).

You can follow the syntax described in the above article. Save to a txt and rename with a .lnk extension; move to your phone. I didn't catch it before, but the file name should be Short_IE.lnk not Sort_IE.lnk.

Check out more about button remapping using shortcuts.

thanks for the tip.

i tried creating a .lnk file (Short_IE.lnk) with notepad and the following line (only line in the file):

36#”\windows\calendar.exe”

and it didn't work.

if figured it out though. the number at the front there... "36#" and the syntax for the link isn't the same for the calendar as it is/was for winwap.exe

when i was checking to make sure i didn't misspell calendar.exe or something (LOL) in my .lnk file i noticed that in the /windows dir there's a .lnk file already for the calendar (duh) so i just opened that one up, copied the line in it into the ie.lnk file and then copied that back into the windows dir.

works perfect now!

thanks for the help gents.

fyi... the line for the calendar is:

21#:MSCALENDAR?:calendarapp
