How to load boot file

Can some1 please tell me how I can load in a boot loader file into the phone. Using RSD Lite 4.1 does not let me open up .mfw files to load. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

Thanks for your help, although, I didn't ask how to put it in boot mode as I already know how to do that. Thanks again, I figured it out to solve the problem.
