I know you can manually set up your GMail account, but anyone know if the new firmware has updated the Mail setup for GMail to automatically support GMail IMAP?

What's the difference? It won't work any differently than it does now.

Now if they added support for push GMail, that would be something to get excited about.

Exactly. Its not hard to manually configure as is, plus that is a google issue for not recognizing iphone as a mobile device with IMAP support from the phone.

it could be one of the simplest things to do. Not big on my request list for iPhone. Cut and paste, well that's a different story.

google already said that IMAP account setup will be included in a future iPhone firmware release. Asking if it will be in 1.1.3 is a little redundant though because who the hell would know?
