Razr2 Music Problem

I have a Razr2 v9m with Sprint and recently purchased a 2gig microSD card and loaded it up with mp3 files. I didn't fill the card up, but did put quite a few # of songs on the card, well, when I go to load up the Music Player, man does it take a long time to load up, and it is quite buggy too, some time it locks up etc.,

Anyone know why this is happening? It is a bad MicroSD card? Is it a phone problem?

Is there a better media / music player out there?

Is the player set to scan for songs on startup? I disabled it on my Z6m and it starts much faster - if I ever add songs to the sd card, I just go into the menu and tell it to scan for songs.

Yes it does scan for songs on start up, but I do not know how to change that setting...i've looked everywhere. Anyone if that can be done on a Razr2?

Any better music players?

My phone will ask if you want it to scan. You can decline and it goes into the music menu.

no, I wish my Razr2 did...unfortunately it does not..

on my phone you go in to the music player, then hit the left softkey for options, and there is an option that says "search"; you can change it to "always", "ask", or "never". I set mine to "never" and it starts right up with 2gb worth of songs.
