South of Jackson, I seem to have 3G service in all of Richland (but not in Florence) and most of Byram. I'm not sure how far it goes to the West...

I'm actually going to be in Jackson for the New Years holiday. I'll be coming in from the west and traveling up to Madison. I'll let you guys know how the coverage is when I get back. This will be my first time to use 3G, can't wait to check out the internet speeds.

Yes, I actually have seen that. ATT posted it shortly after I asked the question. BTW...I am going to be starting a new job as an ATT sales rep in Ruston Jan 7th. I am excited and hope everything works out great there. (I have moved back up here from Nola)

Ill be going to Jackson either later today or tomorrow. Ill report on the 3G coverage after a few days of being there.

I was really surprised at how widespread the 3G coverage is on the map I linked. I was expecting to just see the Jackson metro area covered.

Im in Jackson now and the 3G coverage is pretty good. It is on the 850 band here.

I decided to split this off from the other thread so we can discuss the Jackson area in it's own thread.

I just got back from Jackson, MS today. For me, 3G coverage started around mile marker 32 on I-20 as I was driving east into Clinton. I went through Jackson then north to Madison and 3G coverage was solid the entire time. During my stay 3G voice was fantastic. Also my phone stayed locked to 3G the entire time, never jumping back to GSM/Edge. I'm definitely envious of you guys who enjoy this full time.

I ran several 200k download speed tests while I was there and the average was in the 290 kbit/sec range. I think the highest I got was 320 with my V3xx. I was really expecting it to be much faster.
