Overwrite Items in the NVM menu

Does anyone know how to do this? I need to overwrite a file in the nvm menu of my vx5300 but it keeps telling me Access is blocked by phone provider. I've had suggestions of using NV Edit and then trying again but I still get the same results. Any help would be great! Thanks.

Have you tried the latest version (possibly even the latest test version) of BitPim?

yep, I just tried it and I'm still coming across the same problem
