RAZR V3 (T-Mobile) and Datapilot problem

Brand new V3 from T-Mobile and latest version of Datapilot. Transfers work but the name field is limited to 15 characters instead of the 24 spec'd for that phone. Has anyone else seen this problem? Voluminous searching hasn't turned up any other reports (and Datapilot says they haven't heard of this either). I may have a defective phone but I wanted to see if it has been seen before. Thanks.
