Here is my story, I hope someone has other ideas other than what I have tried. I purchased an unlocked V3i online a while back but had a smaller carrier, CellularOne. I popped a friends ATT SIM card in when I first got it and the phone worked just fine, I then put a Cellone sim card in and the phone has never worked since. Here is a list of what I have tried, I am getting ready to join ATT again and just tried an ATT card and it did not work again. Here is a diagnosis.
- Phone is a Motorola V3i non iTunes and unlocked
- I have flashed/flexed 3 different monster packs successfully but still won't work
- Monster Pack currently loaded is cingular branded yet still won't make a call
- When ATT SIM card is inserted it shows the network is available and has a good signal
- Everytime I try to place a call it says call failed and it will not receive incoming calls
- Have tried adjusting various network settings and still nothing
I am baffled, I don't know why it finds a network, shows a signal, yet still won't make a call. I think my only option left is try to disassemble/reassemble to confirm all hardware is properly connected. I have no problems getting a new phone but I hate to have this one that I paid full price for just sitting around. Anyone have any suggestions?

A very simple answer to your dilemna is that the AT&T network in your current area is temporarily down or fuzzed up badly.
I've had this happen before where I would get call failures and it would resolve itself.
If you really wanted to know if it's your just your phone, try other SIM cards, prepaid sim cards etc. (Not on AT&T)
