How to use unlocked iPhone with iTunes?

Just got an unlocked iPhone and I was wondering how I could use it with the latest version of iTunes? iTunes detects the phone, but since I'm using a T-mobile SIM it says "You are using a sim that is not a supported carrier" or something along those lines and I can't sync music... I can drag music from my iTunes library to the iPhone but I have no way of getting music off...

This is quite a weird scenario because in order to get the iPhone unlocked, you'd need to by-pass activation, and once so, you should be able to use with iTunes no matter which sim you have.

is it using a turbo-sim or something similar? I had often wondered if iTunes would work with one of those.

I didn't unlock the phone myself. I bought it from someone who had it unlocked and the method they used was "anySIM" and I can see it on the main menu in case I want to do it again I suppose...

Anyway I have it setup with T-mobile and everything is working perfectly with T-zones except Youtube (wasn't expecting it to since it's horrible over EDGE anyway). Safari, mail, weather, stocks, maps all work with T-zones so I'm quite happy... the only problem I have is deleting songs off of the phone as I said before since I get that error with iTunes.

I think the phone is already jailbroken... I have an icon called "Installer" and I actually used it to get the proxy hack going for T-zones so would there be something in there that could get it to work with iTunes? I looked around for a while but didn't find anything that sounded like what I was looking for.

PC. I got the phone unlocked already so all I did was download iTumes 7.5 and stick it in the dock with my T-mobile sim in it.

Just restore the phone to 1.1.1. You can have it unlocked again in 10 minutes. Read the stickies. Its cake.

I would restore and redo the jailbreak and unlock... this happened to me after I installed my stealthsim in my jailbroken phone. itunes wouldnt recognize it... I finally just had to restore 1.1.1, jailbreak, upgrade to 1.1.2, and jailbreak again.. it recognized the phone after i was done.. and I am using a tmobile sim as well...

Used Onesim, Virginized and then went to itunes which now recogonized the "new" phone. Restored to 1.1.1, and then the rest was easy and upon completion, itunes now recognizes the phone even with my TMO Sim..

Yea same. Just decided to virginize the phone, reinstall the 1.1.1 firmware and unlocked all over again and it works with iTunes with my T-mobile sim now. Thanks!
