My Phone Reviews Site

been working on a site for the last few months (well collecting reviews i should say) hehe

the site is at www.totalphonezone.com


basically it was originally meant as a resource for myself for when i want to check reviews for a particular phone - i started adding more features and now i think it could be a site that may be of us to others in the future (once i started cleaning it up again - im a bit lazy)

anyway check it out - find your phone and the site will list alot of reviews from around the web available for that phone - you can then go directly to the review site to see the reviews - no more google searching needed (well thats the aim anyway hehe )

any problems let me know

Was unable to register. Drop-downs for both country and favorite manufacturer didn't work and it kept telling me that I'd entered an invalid code.

got lots of work to do on the site though

most likely not be able to do anything until weekend


if u've had a look have u got any suggestions for improvements or features that people would like?

There's a lot of good content but what might help to keep viewers coming back and to spotlight some of the rich material is to incorporate more interactive features like side-by-side comparison spotlights with polls, and links out to the spotlighted phones for reviews. That way, you break it down more manageably and give enthusiasts more community direction (and you can seed the discussion boards too). Just my top-of-the-head .02.

i already have a compare function on the site - pretty simple one at the moment but it does work

i was plannning to do polls but not sure how yet - because i've got limited database size and im not sure how much space i need for the main site datbase just yet i need to watch things and see how it grows first then i can setup polls using either a different database if possible or a subfunction of the current database.

ok i've opened up the site a bit more now so u dont need a username and password to browse most areas

gonna start adding some new features over the weekend too

i've created a new version of the website which i will upload later this week with alot of your suggestions

also you no longer need to be a member to view the content

I'm now able to make it 90% open


just need a free members accounts to post your own reviews (available in the next version of the site)


had some system problems so not really worked on the site at all - although content is still being added to it.

system problems!!

well finally i've got a new system on the go so development on the site will be speedy now

i think ive got all the feature sets down now so shouldnt be long before it all gets added.


ill post some screenshots tomorrow maybe
