Ok so I think my phone will arrive today, it's unlocked but I don't need all the cingular stuff on it and plus I hear it slows down the phone I was wondering can I flash it to a unbranded phone?

Yes you can. Check out the Wizard Wiki over at XDA-developers. It will be your best friend while you have this phone. If you get stuck, ask them for help in the XDA Wizard Forum. Have fun!
