I'm not sure if I'm reading this right, but this is US 3G capable?

Also, according to the SE site, this phone includes Wi-Fi.

Posted by: bodeh6

It has the Ericsson U360 chip also found in the K850i/Z750i. QuadBand GSM/EDGE + Triband HSDPA/UMTS. No Wifi

Where did you read WiFi?

Posted by: tinleyiltom

If you go on the SE global site..it has the new phones in the portfolio..the w760 says WLAN..doesnt that mean wi-fi?

Oh, I see. No the phone doesn't have WLAN/WiFi. SE website is always screwed up the first few days after an announcement. Always screw up the specs.

I thought howard also confirmed that the phone did have wifi? It was kinda funny because howard posted it in the main SE forum and baldi was busting him for cross posting.

is the casing made of metal?

Does w760 support video call? I don't see the vga 2nd cam on the front.

Posted by: tC_

no it doesn't support video call. you're right there isn't a vga 2nd cam on the front. damn i should've waited for this instead of buying the w580 with the screwed up keypad.. this looks pretty sturdy to me. did it mention an approximate release date? the other announcement did (the one with the flip in the bottom half of the phone)

Q2. So as soon as April, or as late as June.

Wow this thing is gorgeous.
Love slim slider types and this happily marries the hipness/youth of the w580 and the sophistication and features of the w910.
Would get this in a heartbeat if I were switching handsets and looking for a music device.
Though I'm still not willing to part with the convenience of a capable camera on my phone.

I don't know if I'm still content on having the walkman button on the side of the phone for the W760.

I was looking at the pics of the phone at the SE site and they're doing a lot of rearraging of buttons on their new lineup.

Instead of the walkman and activity button on either side of the face of the phone, it is now occupied by the send/end keys.

The activity button is now at the bottom left under the d-pad and the walkman button is now on the left edge of the phone.

To be honest, I really like the button placement on the W850, espeically the little metal bar above the walkman button (very helpful on a slider phone). I thought they should have continued that.

Do you guys think a Major US carrier will pick this phone up? Perhaps AT&t? I really hope so...now i am debating getting the w580 or wait for this one. But that'll be like 6 months or so!!! Ackkk

I would bet a US carrier would pick this up. fter the success of the 580 SE will be have no trouble getting more real estate in ATT stores. I could see 4-6 SE products at ATT much like Moto and Samsung.

I have full confidence that it will be released for AT&T. They'd be stupid not to carry it considering how well the W580's been doing.

yeah but if they do i can see a whole lot of people on this forum unhappy.. what with all the att crap on the phone. sure you can always unbrand it, but then the fact is a lot of other people would have this phone as well. it's ridiculous how many people hold a w580i cause rogers has it on promotion. makes me feel common. i liked having a phone that nobody else has. =( just my opinion haha

I know how you feel about liking to have a phone no one else has. At first I was the only one with my phone, but now look around. My enV is one of the most popular phones around right now, which has caused me to develop sort of a hatred for it. I like being "exclusive".

i thought i read this was going to be released Q1 2008? i think this might be my next phone. just had a key crack on my S500, so i'm in the market for something new. i wish the cam had AF and a flash though.

Looks like my kind of a phone. Will see when it comes out.
