T-Mobile MDA problems

T-Mobile branded MDA. Reflashed to a Windows Mobile 6 version by "mfrazzz"

1. Battery life. TERRIBLE. I think it might be the phone. Got two other batteries. One last about as long as the original one I had and the other last just a little longer. Have yet to try a 100% new battery yet. In about 5 hours off the chrager with maybe a phone call and a few texts, it will drop to about 70%. Any ideas?

2. My MMS does not work. I know its from when I switched it over to WinMo6 and all the "fields" are empty for the setting. Customer Care wouldn't help me so does anyone on here have the required information I need to put it?

3. My LAN does not work. Possibly another thing from doing the WinMo6 deal. When I go to the Comm Manager and click LAN, the little windows loading icon comes up and goes off with the LAN not turning on.

1. It's most likely the custom ROM. Look for a different one that has good battery power

2. Can't help you there...I googled and downloaded a settings cab for my Cingular wizard(8125)

3. Play with the "my work network" setting as well as the "network card" fiels under connections. After a little toying, I got the WLAN to work.

xda-developers.com may be able to help set up your WLAN and MMS settings.
Otherwise, some developers design custom WM6 ROMs for certain carriers.

Well I had the MDA on this version and stumbled upon another one in better shape so I got it and gave the other one to a friend. That night I went home and put the same version on the new one. My old MDA the battery life was fine, the new one is just terrible.

Still not sure about the LAN though. I messed with the setting a little bit but got nothing. Thought about posting all this on xda but wasn't sure. Guess I will do that

It's so hard to find any info over there because it's normally buried in a 10 mile long Thread... I'm getting ready to upgrade my phone to WM6, the only thing holding me back is I need an SD card so I can run Sprite Back up 6 to save all my current apps.

Yea tell me about it, and posting a new thread doesn't get too many replies either. I just figure its time for me to get out of this MDA **** and get a newer nicer phone

I'm looking into an 8525. Sadly I've only had this MDA about a month... lol

Posted by: Dain

Yea I thought about the 8525. All the newer PDAs open up with the controls on the left side and I like how the 8525 was kept on the right. I think I am just going to get an iPhone though. Hated it at first, actually used one so I have another opinion now, and the most important thing...3G. When it comes to my area, I will need a 3G capable phone

Pretty sure the iPhone isn't 3G.

Hrm, I thought it was, will have to look into that. Have a buddy with one who lives a few hours away where they have 3G and he says its great

EDIT: hrm, just looked on the AT&T site and didn't say 3G. Thats ******

BUMP.

Just went to a newer version of windows and having the exact same problems. SOMEONE HELP!

I was on XM6r3 and now am on XM6r5 with no changes in my problems... Didn't mess with the IPL/SPL stuff though, is that what I would need to change to see if other ROM has better battery life?

Posted by: Dain

BUMP.... dammit.

Yet ANOTHER version of WM6 and now on the 3.08 IPL/SPL with the same damn problems. ITS GOT TO BE SETTINGS SOMEWHERE

UPDATE

Just loaded the ROM from T-Mobile's website back to WM5... MMS works now, battery life still terrible (guess I just need to try another brand new battery), and the WLAN is STILL doing the same thing
